We are seeing to much violence in our schools and it needs to be stopped.
The news about the GA children who wanted to cause harm to their teacher shocked everyone, however this seems to be the norm of today, and the children are getting away with it because of their ages, however 3 of the GA children did not and they should be charged if they are found guilty of what they are being charged with not just hearsay…
Now lets get closer to home, has anyone heard of the 9 yr old that was violently attacked by another student for no reason accept walking out a door??? No, I didn’t think so.
Well it happened right here locally at one of our schools, and the way it was handled is something that needs to be investigated.
- They refused to file a police report even after the mother of the victim repeatedly asked, and then she had to call the Sheriff’s Dept and Citrus Heights Police to ask why a report was not going to be filed when this is a CRIME.
- The attacker is still at school???? WHY???
- The school knew they had a potential violent student in the population and did nothing to safeguard the rest of the students.
- Transportation that provides the bus service for both the victim and the attacker refuses to remove the attacker off the bus, since it is a schools issue and not a bus issue????? Please give me a break…
- The rights of the victim have totally been ignored while everyone is trying to protect the attacker….
I think this needs to be brought to light and the school needs to answer on why this was not handled better.

Why is it that everyone seems surprised at the escalation in school violence?
Why is it that Europe and the rest of the world do not see the same statistics (in fact nowhere close at all…) of school violence that occurs in the USA?
Here is my theory; who do the children have as role models in this country? Their leaders?. These leaders are elected based on ‘war experience’. The same criteria that is being used to say that McCain will be a better president because he is a ‘war hero’.
Leaders in this country have been judged on how they perform in ‘war time’ or in their ability to declare war (like the C grade student we currently have in the White house).
How about a leaders ability to make peace, to hold out a hand in friendship ? Does that count for nothing?
Apprarently it does in the US of A.; and people are shocked that children are modeling such behaviour as a way of establishing their identity!!! Grow up….nothing will change unless we change the criteria that we use to elect our leaders so that we have better role models for growing adults….
