America needs tougher gun control.
America needs to increase the gun control laws, but not get rid of our right to bare an arm. The 40% of homes that own a gun should go down to 10%.

Nothing good has come out of guns in households and nothing will. Many gun supporters say that the gun is for protection, which is sometimes true, but it rarely is. Most people who claim that the gun they own is for protection have never used it for that reason. Most of the time the gun goes off by mistake and it kills someone. Every year about 140 children die and about 1,500 children are hurt after being accidentally shot. Also, in 1997 there were 15,289 murders and of these, 10,369 were committed with firearms. That’s 68%! A way to fix the accidental deaths would be to have a “Trigger Lock” for every gun. A trigger lock requires the owner to enter a combination to use the gun. That would prevent kids getting there hand on a gun and firing it. There really is no 100% way to eliminate all gun related murders, but we could greatly decrease it by creating stricter background checks. There is the “Gun-show loophole” which means that background checks are not required when buying from a privet transaction. If you make the background check a lot more strict and have backgroundchecks required for buying privately it would be much harder to get your hands on a gun.

You lost all credibility with this canard:
“Most people who claim that the gun they own is for protection have never used it for that reason. Most of the time the gun goes off by mistake and it kills someone. Every year about 140 children die and about 1,500 children are hurt after being accidentally shot.”
Google “Civilian Gun Self Defense Blog” for stories of people using firearms in self defense every day…and those are just the ones reported in the press. The incidents that occur every day where no shots were fired and no one was killed generally aren’t reported at all.
And think about what you are saying: You say taht “most of the time the gun goes off by mistake and it kills someone”. There are some 290 MILLION guns in this country. There are well over 80 MILLION gun owning households.
If your assertion were anywhere near true, the accidental death numbers would be MUCH higher. In fact, gun ownership has a very good safety record, relatiely speaking. More kids drown in swimming pools every year than are accidentally killed by guns and there are significantly less pool owning households than gun owning households.
If the best support for your argument you can come up with is pure tripe, your position obviously isn’t based on a firm foundation.
“bare an arm”?
You should read my article on Gun Control & the Constitution… It would perhaps better inform you on gun issues. Thanks, but I think your views are a bit skewed.
