White House Insider On Obama: President Losing It

A longtime Washington D.C. insider, and former advisor to the Obama election campaign and transition team, speaks out on an administration in crisis, and a president increasingly withdrawn from the job of President.
2008 gave America an incredibly charismatic candidate for President of the United States. Speech after speech showed a candidate with increasing momentum as primary race after primary race concluded. And then came the nomination, more speeches, culminating in an election night victory.
According to the person sitting across from me, those were incredibly exciting times, even for one who had been a participant with three previous presidential hopefuls. Barack Obama appeared to move from one city to the next effortlessly, gaining confidence and motivation with each campaign stop. He was remarkable to watch. He took the script, elevated it with his oration, left the crowds screaming for more, and then would do it all over again, time after time after time. On the campaign trail, Obama is a machine.
When I asked this insider if the media gave candidate Obama an assist throughout his campaign, it elicits a sly smile. Sure – we definitely had people in the media on our side. Absolutely. We went so far as to give them specific ideas for coverage. The ones who took that advice from the campaign were granted better access, and Obama was the biggest story in 2008, so yeah, that gave us a lot of leverage.
Could Obama have succeeded without the media’s help? Yeah, I think so. As I said, on the campaign trail he is very-very good. The opposition didn’t have near the energy, or the celebrity attraction that Obama brings. Plus, the country was burned out after eight years of Bush. We knew that going in. We knew that if we won the Democrat nomination, we were likely going to cruise our way to the White House – and that is exactly what we did.”
But after Obama was sworn in, things began to change? Almost immediately. Obama loved to campaign. He clearly didn’t like the work of being President though, and that attitude was felt by the entire White House staff within weeks after the inauguration. Obama the tireless, hard working candidate became a very tepid personality to us. And the few news stories that did come out against him were the only things he seemed to care about. He absolutely obsesses over Fox News. For being so successful, Barack Obama is incredibly thin-skinned. He takes everything very personally.
And you state he despises Joe Biden? Oh yeah. That is very well known in the White House. Obama chose Biden for one reason – to have an older white guy with some international policy credentials. Period. If Biden has all of this international experience that Obama found so valuable, why has he buried him under the pile of crap that became the stimulus bill? What does Joe Biden know about budgets and economics? Not much – but Obama didn’t care. Give Joe a job and get him the hell out of my hair – that pretty much sums up the president’s feelings toward Joe Biden.
What about Hillary Clinton? Obama is scared to death of Hillary. He doesn’t trust her – obsesses over her almost as much as he does Fox News. He respects her though, which might be why he fears her so much as well. He talks the game, but when it comes down to it, she has played the game on a far tougher level than he has, and Obama knows that.
How about Bill Clinton? I never heard Obama say anything about Bill Clinton personally, though I was told he has cracked a few jokes about the former president since getting into the White House. I have heard that Bill Clinton does not like Barack Obama. That really started when Obama played the race card against him during the primary campaign. Apparently Clinton was apoplectic over that and still hasn’t gotten over it. If there is one thing I have learned in this town – don’t make an enemy of Bill Clinton.
So if Obama doesn’t appear interested in the job of president, what does he do day after day? Well, he takes his meetings just like any other president would, though even then, he seems to lack a certain focus and on a few occasions, actually leaves with the directive that be given a summary of the meeting at a later date. I hear he plays a lot of golf, and watches a lot of television – ESPN mainly. I’ll tell you this – if you want to see President Obama get excited about a conversation, turn it to sports. That gets him interested. You start talking about Congress, or some policy, and he just kinda turns off. It’s really very strange. I mean, we were all led to believe that this guy was some kind of intellectual giant, right? Ivy League and all that. Well, that is not what I saw. Barack Obama doesn’t have a whole lot of intellectual curiosity. When he is off script, he is what I call a real “slow talker”. Lots of ummms, and lots of time in between answers where you can almost see the little wheel in his head turning very slowly. I am not going to say the president is a dumb man, because he is not, but yeah, there was a definite letdown when you actually hear him talking without the script.
That sounds like you are calling Obama stupid to me. No – I am not going to call him stupid. He just doesn’t strike me as particularly smart. Bill Clinton is a smart guy – he would run intellectual circles around Barack Obama. And Bill Clinton loved the politics of being president. Obama seems to think he shouldn’t have to be bothered, which has created a considerable amount of conflict among his staff.
So how bad are things at the White House these days? I don’t know about right now, because I have not been there in over a month. But I still hear things, and I know what it was like when I left. It’s not good. As bad as it might look to voters based on what they do know, it’s much worse. The infighting is off the charts. You got a Chief of Staff who despises cabinet members, advisors who despise the Chief of Staff, a President and First Lady having their own issues…
Come again – what about the First Lady? (The insider takes a deep breath) Ok, look, just like any other marriage, folks have issues. The Obamas are no different, except of course they are very high profile. I was told they were having issues before the campaign, and they have even more issues now. Maybe that is why Obama seems so detached – not so much the stress of the White House, but the stress of personal issues. I can certainly relate to that kind of situation.
Care to clarify some more on the Obama marriage? No. That is all I will say about that. Don’t ask again.
Ok, back to President Obama then. In just a few words, how would you describe him these days? Like I said, it’s been a while since I was last at the White House, but I don’t have a problem saying that the president is losing it. I don’t mean he is like losing his mind. I mean to say that he is losing whatever spark he had during the campaign. When you take away the crowds, Obama gets noticeably smaller. He shrinks up inside of himself. He just doesn’t seem to have the confidence to do the job of President, and it’s getting worse and worse. Case in point – just a few days before I left, I saw first hand the President of the United States yelling at a member of his staff. He was yelling like a spoiled child. And then he pouted for several moments after. I wish I was kidding, or exaggerating, but I am not. The President of the United States threw a temper tantrum. The jobs reports are always setting him off, and he is getting increasingly conspiratorial over the unemployment numbers. I never heard it myself, but was told that Obama thinks the banking system is out to get him now. That they and the big industries are making him pay for trying to regulate them more. That is the frame of mind the President is in these days. And you know what? Maybe he is right, who knows?
Will Obama run again in 2012? I don’t know. That subject was never brought up again after 2008, at least not around me. If he does, I think it would have more to do with allowing him another year and a half of campaigning again. He just loves it so much. He really needs the crowds, the cheering, the support of the people.
Can he win in 2012? Oh – absolutely. Who else campaigns as well as Barack Obama? Nobody. What politician is more loved and supported by the media? Nobody. I don’t see the Republicans offering up a candidate as powerful as Obama. I mean Sarah Palin? Really? Obama would defeat her by a 20 point landslide! Romney? The Republicans will enjoy these midterm elections, but 2012 is Obama’s year if he chooses to run again. As a president, Obama has many flaws, but as a candidate, he is near flawless.
But would another four years of an Obama presidency be the best thing for America? (Long pause) Now that is a much more interesting question right there, and a question I think more and more Democrat Party insiders are asking themselves these days, myself included. I am going to come right out and say it – No. Obama is not up to the job of being president. He simply doesn’t seem to care about the work involved. You want to know what? Obama is lazy. He really is. And it is getting worse and worse. Would another four years of Obama be the best thing for America? No it would not. What this country needs is a president who is focused on the job more than on themselves. Obama is not that individual. I actually hope he doesn’t run again. Looking back, as much fun as the campaign in 2008 was, Hillary Clinton should have been the nominee. Hillary was ready to be president. Obama was not ready. He had never lost a campaign. Everything was handed to him. He doesn’t really understand the idea of work – real, hard, get your heart and soul into it work. And frankly, that is very disappointing to a whole lot of us…

There is enough “positive” information to make it appear that the insider really is telling the truth, but the sudden flips to negativity give away his/her agenda. After reading this article, it is very apparent the obama was never up to the job.
As he did in Illinois, he got elected and expectd others to do his job for him.
His camapaign slogan should have been “Yes we can (as long as someone else does it).”

This looks like the kind of stuff they write about Sarah Palin. It’s kinda cool, actually, to see the tables turned and the tactic used on Obama. If we were in a parallel universe, Geoffrey Dunn would have written this and it would have been on the front page of HuffPo!

I got it from a good source in Alaska, some guy who only wants to be known as Gryphen, that Obama threw his ring in the Potomac. Yup, and there’s more. I heard Michele throws cans at Barack and they argue loud, cussing at each other and so on.
I wish I could move next door to the White House and write a book about this stuff!

I do like the idea about Gary Johnson as president, he has a good track record.
When he left office, NM was 1 of only 2 states that had a balanced budget and was leading the way to ending the failed Drug War. Johnson is inovative, energetic, young, expirenced, and was the only sitting governor to win his states Iron Man contest, a brutal triatholon in the hot NM sun.
Obama can’t claim that title, he can’t even quit smoking, because he is a weak man who is lost.

This all does ring true, and as far as the Harvard Comment, well, if he did so well in Harvard College of Law, why is he not allowing them to release anything about his performance?
Obama does not like or want scrutiny. That is a mark of a person who knows their actual performance was way below standards. Obama avoided leaving any records of accomplishment in the IL Senate, as he did in the US Senate (nothing but Present votes). He is an empty suit with no talent other than campaigning (which I will give him as he was brilliant…although he has a time attracting a crowd now)
I don’t know how true this is but the truly scandalous thing has been the see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil act that the mainstream media has been doing with Obama and his background that has left so much of his life is a mystery and various facts don’t quite match the sanitized party line that it’s opened the door to all sorts of conspiracy theories ranging from the reasonable to the absurd and until the mainstream media gets its act together and actually investigates Obama and his background, you are only going to see more and more people believe unflattering things about him, such as the growing number of people who believe he’s a Muslim. To the mainstream media, pin the guy down. Ask him some uncomfortable questions. Dig a little. Be an investigative reporter rather than a groupie. You aren’t helping him by circling the wagons around a gaping hole of no information because people will happily imagine what belongs in that hole.

Well,it accords with my impression. Bur we really know very little about this man. Take the college records, In 200 and 2004, we learned that 1) George Bush was a mediocre student, but attended good schools and managed to get a Harvard MBA.We learned that Gore and Kerry also had mediocre grades. that Gore failed to be an advanced degree. that Kerry also got mediocre scores, and maybe went into the Navy because graduate school was not an immediate option. He was a good junior officer and at least managed not to get himself killed after he volunteered to go on a combat mission, and later he got a law degree. All these men are intelligent,probably on about the same level as the Kennedy brothers, but not intellects. I agree that Clinton is a lot sharper, and he has the credentials to prove it. Obama is a mystery.

Anyone who knows about the 130 present votes in the Illinois Senate would not be surprised by this article. Two words come to mind; Affirmative Action.

I can believe most of what’s written here but if the author things that Obama can easily win again in 2012 he’s not too smart. Most of the people who voted for “hope and change” are very happy with what they got and won’t vote for him again.

There is NOTHING new in this article. You people who are criticizing it need to pay attention to what is going on, Obama has taken more time off in two years for vacations than any two term president has in their entire career as president, in fact Obama has abandon the people more than any four presidents put together. He spends more time golfing tha most pros and still can’t golf worth a damn, he is constantly shipping his wige and children off (wonder how that’s affecting their education?) at our expense… These are not normal situations, even for people in highstress jobs. Here in Milwaukee on Labor Day he went off script and started whining about being treated like a dog, as if he expected to be treated like the king of the world without earning the respect he wants… the list just goes on and on. Even before he was elected Psychologists said he was mentally unstable and would not be able to handle the pressure of the office and predicted exactly this type of behavior, as it is typical of a narcissist, which he is a text book example of.

Harvard Law School is still just school. It’s only student work. Being law review editor is a fantastic reference for your first job out of law school. Beyond that, big deal!

I believe that if obama re-ran for president, anyone could defeat him unless we take a very drastic turn for the better and his morons come out in droves again to re-elect him……. too many people know him for what he truly is now……. a community organizer who lacks the skills or experience to be anything, let alone president!

Obama’s legislative record alone shows that he doesn’t like the mental heavy lifting involved in actually doing something.
0bama can’t make a one minute announcement without a teleprompter. When his teleprompter malfunctions, he just stops, and waits for it to be corrected. That shows anyone with any sense that he doesn’t write his own speeches, he doesn’t practice the speech he is handed, and he doesn’t know much about whatever topic he’s addressing. He has essentially stayed in campaign mode all this time. He flies from one state to the next giving speeches, that’s what he does. This article certainly rings true.

Well, Obama has never DONE anything but make speeches and campaign for community advocacy and political issues. No productive work at all.
Great at speeches and public rallies and large group activism. Can motivate the crowd and get them fired up at the moment for his particular agenda. But terrible one-on-one, no real human understanding or personna…just when he is “on” is he good.
So, this is the Black Preacher syndrome….Give firey speeches and get the crowd rolling on the floors and shouting Hallelujah…then pass the plate for money to keep the preaching going on an on. This article is exactly what we, who were not wowed from the beginning by the candidate’s persona schtick, suspected. That I don’t know this writer or his source bothers me. I hate anonymity. I hated it when there were so many accusations against President Bush. It is easy to trash a reputation, and it is beginning with President Obama!
The thing that bothered me about Barack Obama from the beginning was that there was no one who could speak confidently to his character, moral terpitude, or his history. His grades, his health, even his birth certificate were all kept secreted away from people who wanted to know him better. There were never any glowing reports from teachers, students, and his voting record was mostly obscured or “no vote”.
There is still no one coming forward to say that they have known this man for years and he is a man of vision and strength, and who has examples to prove it. That was not true of President Bush, and no one in recent history that I know of, was more hatefully smeared.
My prayer for President Obama is that the fire he is in will cause him to man up. Since he has never had any real men to serve as his examples, that will be hard. He has surrounded himself from his college years with bitter, whining cowards. I pray that he will see that his philosophy for life does not work and that he will find and embrace Truth.
As much as I want to believe this, it’s just too tidy. It’s like a list of all the things that Obama’s opponents already think are true about him. Don’t get me wrong; I think that a lot of this probably is accurate, but it’s all just so perfect that it seems unlikely.
Also, would a Democrat who worked on the Obama campaign actually call it “the Democrat nomination”? I understand the reasons why we don’t call things “Democratic” on the opposite side of the aisle, but I don’t recall seeing Democrats themselves adopt this tic.

This rings true only because Obama does seem to have lost his mojo. If you’ve listened to his last several speeches you can see it in his face and hear it in his voice. He’d rather be anywhere else. His oval office speech was robotic at best.

The issue isn’t the interviewee’s credibility. There is nothing here that couldn’t have been discerned merely by close watching. The significant thing is that the truth now is making it into print. It’s finally ok to admit that the emperor has no cloths. America has been had, and the left-wing media bear much of the guilt.

I don’t know if this is genuine or not. On the one hand, not only is the “source” anonymous (which always does or should raise flags), but the author doesn’t use his real name either. I would expect that if this were genuine, the author would want his identity to be known, instead of just using the pseudonym “Ulsterman”.
On the other hand, if it is a fake, it’s a damn sharp one. It has the hallmarks of a genuine interview, in particular the tension between interviewer and source as to setting boundaries.
As a side observation, I am an amateur observer of the nuances of English language usage and the patterns of speech used by the alleged source are characteristic of someone who grew up in the far northern upper mid-west, specifically rural northern Wisconsin or Minnesota. Perhaps someone with the time and inclination will correlate the implied age, time frame in the campaign and White House, possible geographic background, etc. to identify the source.
I doubt this is for real. I think its insights are probably pretty good all the same. Obama would be a great subject for someone to have turned into a novel, a la Primary Colors, but nobody in the press dared delve beneath the cover story. They still think he’s “kind of a god,” and exploring how they came to view him that way would require a degree of candor about race and affirmative action policies and the ability of an impressive-seeming black man to float upward without ever really accomplishing anything that would be unacceptable for a member in good standing of the media.
Reliable source or not, please, please, please, get this Marxist out of the White House.
I don’t believe the article is genuine. Anyone could write it based on sheer observation. Notice the writer avoided anything that could become substance for a “real” rumor, like marital problems between the Obamas. He said himself that he might only be a one term president, and we all know that he has no experience whatsoever in really running any sort of political office. I think the article does a pretty good job of expressing the feelings of all Americans, but it certainly isn’t anything to past around as having come from a real insider. That’s bunk.
I don’t think Obama could win again. In 2008, he ran on a blank slate of hope and promises. Now he has an abysmal, corrupt failed track record to defend. All the Republican candidate has to ask the public is, “Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago”, and Obama will have no answer to that.
I have a gut feeling that the current predictions about the midterm elections are wrong. It’s one thing to talk about “Generic Republicans are up X points, which translates to Y gains in the House and Z gains in the Senate.” But once that X figure gets high enough, there has to be a tipping point where the entire Democrat party collapses at once. By collapse, I mean that Democrats lose nearly every seat in the House and nearly every open Senate seat. Then the Republicans take over Congress with a enormous, authentic anti-administration mandate and start dismantling the Federal government and start investigating and impeaching Obama’s cabinet.
If this happens, then we’ll truly see what it means for Barack Obama to “lose it.” I don’t think he can handle a crisis.
I don’t doubt that much of what this article claims actually is true–Obama strikes me as being an average intellect, at best–but the whole thing sounds made up.
How could an “insider” not know Obama was humiliated in the 2000 Dem primary for the House by Bobby Rush, who mocked him as an Uncle Tom-ish nobody and beat him with about 75% of the vote? It’s a majority-minority district, and when Obama couldn’t run his “Hope and Change” con on white people looking to make him their mascot, he had nothing.

Sounds exactly right to me. The guy has spent more time playing golf and vacationing then Bush did in 8 years. He has party after party but when it comes to writing a stimulus bill or crafting Obamacare, its handed off to Congressional Democrats who have failed spectacularly.
The guy has never worked hard a day in office, you can see it throughout his political career. Voting present most of the time doesnt show the interest or intellectual curiosity it takes to be a good President.

Does anybody remember how detached and unemotional BO was when reacting to the Gulf disaster? It seemed at that time that Obama was incapable of leadership and was unable to execute one of the president’s basic duties: that of protecting the country from an outside attack/ecological disaster. He insisted that he was in charge, when it was patently obvious that BP was, and is, in total control. With Obama’s permission, BP continues today to block any attempt by the news media, independent scientists, citizens, or anyone other than their company shills, to expose, assess or to deal with any of the problems that they have created. In fact, BP has essentially become a separate governmental entity, which is controlling the entire Gulf coast- and which appears to be in the process of destroying it.
Still, Democrats don’t seem to realize how deeply upset Americans are with the Congress, for not acting independently of the President. This is a Congress that refused to listen to the American people when they said that they didn’t want the health-care law as written, that they did want the Arizona law to stand, that they don’t want amnesty or carbon taxes, or regressive and punitive laws regarding our constitutional right to grow and sell food, use the internet freely, etc, etc. This Congress has refused to stand up to the banks and big corporations and has greatly expanded governmental intrusion into our lives, and now it wants to blame the President for its unpopularity.
This is why people have lost their faith in the Democratic Party and why so many are willing to vote, (if they vote at all,) for anyone else. I never heard it myself, but was told that Obama thinks the banking system is out to get him now. That they and the big industries are making him pay for trying to regulate them more. That is the frame of mind the President is in these days. And you know what? Maybe he is right, who knows?

Period. If Biden has all of this international experience that Obama found so valuable, why has he buried him under the pile of crap that became the stimulus bill? What does Joe Biden know about budgets and economics? Not much – but Obama didn’t care. Give Joe a job and get him the hell out of my hair – that pretty much sums up the president’s feelings toward Joe Biden.
What about Hillary Clinton? Obama is scared to death of Hillary. He doesn’t trust her – obsesses over her almost as much as he does Fox News. He respects her though, which might be why he fears her so much as well. He talks the game, but when it comes down to it, she has played the game on a far tougher level than he has, and Obama knows that.
How about Bill Clinton? I never heard Obama say anything about Bill Clinton personally, though I was told he has cracked a few jokes about the former president since getting into the White House. I have heard that Bill Clinton does not like Barack Obama. That really started when Obama played the race card against him during the primary campaign. Apparently Clinton was apoplectic over that and still hasn’t gotten over it. If there is one thing I have learned in this town – don’t make an enemy of Bill Clinton.
So if Obama doesn’t appear interested in the job of president, what does he do day after day? Well, he takes his meetings just like any other president would, though even then, he seems to lack a certain focus and on a few occasions, actually leaves with the directive that be given a summary of the meeting at a later date. I hear he plays a lot of golf, and watches a lot of television – ESPN mainly. I’ll tell you this – if you want to see President Obama get excited about a conversation, turn it to sports. That gets him interested. You start talking about Congress, or some policy, and he just kinda turns off. It’s really very strange. I mean, we were all led to believe that this guy was some kind of intellectual giant, right? Ivy League and all that. Well, that is not what I saw. Barack Obama doesn’t have a whole lot of intellectual curiosity. When he is off script, he is what I call a real “slow talker”. Lots of ummms, and lots of time in between answers where you can almost see the little wheel in his head turning very slowly. I am not going to say the president is a dumb man, because he is not, but yeah, there was a definite letdown when you actually hear him talking without the script.
That sounds like you are calling Obama stupid to me. No – I am not going to call him stupid. He just doesn’t strike me as particularly smart. Bill Clinton is a smart guy – he would run intellectual circles around Barack Obama. And Bill Clinton loved the politics of being president. Obama seems to think he shouldn’t have to be bothered, which has created a considerable amount of conflict among his staff.
So how bad are things at the White House these days? I don’t know about right now, because I have not been there in over a month. But I still hear things, and I know what it was like when I left. It’s not good. As bad as it might look to voters based on what they do know, it’s much worse. The infighting is off the charts. You got a Chief of Staff who despises cabinet members, advisors who despise the Chief of Staff, a President and First Lady having their own issues…
Come again – what about the First Lady? (The insider takes a deep breath) Ok, look, just like any other marriage, folks have issues. The Obamas are no different, except of course they are very high profile. I was told they were having issues before the campaign, and they have even more issues now. Maybe that is why Obama seems so detached – not so much the stress of the White House, but the stress of personal issues. I can certainly relate to that kind of situation.
Care to clarify some more on the Obama marriage? No. That is all I will say about that. Don’t ask again.
Ok, back to President Obama then. In just a few words, how would you describe him these days? Like I said, it’s been a while since I was last at the White House, but I don’t have a problem saying that the president is losing it. I don’t mean he is like losing his mind. I mean to say that he is losing whatever spark he had during the campaign. When you take away the crowds, Obama gets noticeably smaller. He shrinks up inside of himself. He just doesn’t seem to have the confidence to do the job of President, and it’s getting worse and worse. Case in point – just a few days before I left, I saw first hand the President of the United States yelling at a member of his staff. He was yelling like a spoiled child. And then he pouted for several moments after. I wish I was kidding, or exaggerating, but I am not. The President of the United States threw a temper tantrum. The jobs reports are always setting him off, and he is getting increasingly conspiratorial over the unemployment numbers. I never heard it myself, but was told that Obama thinks the banking system is out to get him now. That they and the big industries are making him pay for trying to regulate them more. That is the frame of mind the President is in these days. And you know what? Maybe he is right, who knows?
Will Obama run again in 2012? I don’t know. That subject was never brought up again after 2008, at least not around me. If he does, I think it would have more to do with allowing him another year and a half of campaigning again. He just loves it so much. He really needs the crowds, the cheering, the support of the people.
Can he win in 2012? Oh – absolutely. Who else campaigns as well as Barack Obama? Nobody. What politician is more loved and supported by the media? Nobody. I don’t see the Republicans offering up a candidate as powerful as Obama. I mean Sarah Palin? Really? Obama would defeat her by a 20 point landslide! Romney? The Republicans will enjoy these midterm elections, but 2012 is Obama’s year if he chooses to run again. As a president, Obama has many flaws, but as a candidate, he is near flawless.
But would another four years of an Obama presidency be the best thing for America? (Long pause) Now that is a much more interesting question right there, and a question I think more and more Democrat Party insiders are asking themselves these days, myself included. I am going to come right out and say it – No. Obama is not up to the job of being president. He simply doesn’t seem to care about the work involved. You want to know what? Obama is lazy. He really is. And it is getting worse and worse. Would another four years of Obama be the best thing for America? No it would not. What this country needs is a president who is focused on the job more than on themselves. Obama is not that individual. I actually hope he doesn’t run again. Looking back, as much fun as the campaign in 2008 was, Hillary Clinton should have been the nominee. Hillary was ready to be president. Obama was not ready. He had never lost a campaign. Everything was handed to him. He doesn’t really understand the idea of work – real, hard, get your heart and soul into it work. And frankly, that is very disappointing to a whole lot of us…

Obama wasn’t supposed to get the nomination. He was campaigning for the vice presidency, or to set himself up for a serious 2012 run. No one expected him to get the traction he did. When he started winning, they decided, what the hell, let’s go for it — without stopping to think that he was completely unprepared to be president.

Isn’t it interesting that most of the negative responders to this article didn’t argue about content, but rather, didn’t like it because the interviewee was anonymous? I, on the other hand, choose to look at the credibility of the content based on what many of us knew in 2008…that Obama is inexperienced.
His inexperience also includes never having to go to his jobsite daily and pounding through the work-a-day rigors of that job. His particular job just happens to be the single most rigorous, most demanding, and (for me, at least) the most important job on earth.
I truly don’t mean this negatively, but Obama should have been a lobbyist. He is completely equipped and geared for it…campaigning all day, every day. As president, he,, is not up to the trials and punishment of this job. Few people are…and he is not one of those. He is simply in over his head.

GOD must have written this, because clearly the author was everywhere.
Not only that, but somehow:
- a person who can barely write or speak got a job at the highest level of government
- they are highly critical of everyone even though they are clearly VERY MUCH on the inside
- they are willing to divulge top-level information about a highly sensitive issue involving national security
They also use words no insider would use. Just one of dozens of examples I can’t be bothered detailing: describing Panetta as having a ‘policy’. Anyone who’s done basic politics knows that only ELECTED representatives have POLICIES. OFFICIALS have plans, strategies, etc. but NEVER policies. A govt insider just would not say that. It’s like a sailor not calling the stern, the bow.
Also, most glaringly of all, it uses many, many barely disguised attacks on Obama…Putting aside the fact that even the most disillusioned staffer wouldn’t say things in such an obviously attacking way – they are quite amateurish in their execution. Two very quick examples:
“Nothing changed with the president’s opinion – he continued to avoid having one.”

This was in 2010 huh…well…Ron Paul is running for the GOP in 2012.
