If your ever hard pressed to wanting a bit of self fame, why not get yourself in a 100 foot balloon, let it loose and scream for help, saying you accidentally misplaced your six year old son in it, and watch as the world comes knocking at your door.

The Henne family organised a hoax where they let out a giant weather balloon in the air and cried to police as if they left had “forgotten” that there 6 year old son falcon was trapped inside. It is disturbing to know that some people will go at length wasting public money on the search, just to get media attention. A string of Balloon Boy related articles propped up around the net where there were t-shirts, web-sites and even a online video-game of people jumping along on the bandwagon of this hoax, hoping to catch a bit of the attention the balloon left in its trail. And to think the Henne family had us all fooled until they were fooled by their son Falcon, who when asked by his father why did he go hiding in a interview he answered “We did this for a show”

Now the next time somebody really lets his 6 year-old son climb into a giant balloon the police won’t even pay attention, thinking it was another publicity stunt. Thank you, Henne for denying everybody else the pleasure of climbing into a balloon and have the rest of the world watch us.
