Why Donald Trump Would Make a Great President

Recently there’s been a lot of hype of billionaire Donald Trump, and the possibility of his running for president. He has said that he will decide for sure whether he will run by June.

His talk of running for president is nothing new however, as he has hinted at the possibility in the past, but many journalists see something different this time. Trump insists that he is taking this quite seriously.

He has confirmed that if he were to run, he would be representing the Republican Party, but that if he does not wrangle up enough support there, would consider going Independent.

He has repeatedly stated that America today is a joke to the rest of the world, and that if he were to become president, we would regain the respect as a country that we have long gone without. 

Trump has also made remarks as to how he sees China as “the enemy” and that “They want to take over this country economically.” He states that he has dealt with China in business, and that they told him that they can;t believe how easily they could scam the US. He believes that they are not outcompeting us as a nation, but that they are cheating by manipulating their currency. He says that if he were to be elected, he would place a 25% tax on all Chinese products.

A few conservative journalists, as well as Donald Trump himself believe that his status as a businessman, rather than a politician gives him a huge advantage, the first and most obvious reason being that he literally has billions of dollars at his disposal for a campaign. The specific number that he has stated he is willing to spend in the running is $600 million. Now, aside from the money, Trump has a greater economical understanding, as a businessman, than any regular politician would be going into the game with. He knows how to deal with international trade, having done deals in several different countries, and he has experienced the ups and downs of the system. Whether this would actually help him with handling an entire nation’s wealth, we are yet to find out.

Trump has explicitly stated that if elected, he will not raise taxes. He has also been quoted as saying “I am pro-life,” and, “I am against gun control.” Also, causing reason for great applause, he has said “I will fight to end Obamacare and replace it with something that makes sense for people in business and not bankrupt the country.” If Trump actually goes through with all this, he will undoubtedly be a hero to all of the conservative republicans out there, but until then, we all just have to deal with Obama, and hope he doesn’t permanently cripple our country before the 2012 elections.
