I say keep Brian Kilmeade on the air, with one small condition.
Sure, some might say that a news organization with a conscience should fire Brian Kilmeade for his comments about how America is not a “pure society” because we “marry other species and ethnics”. Some may say that spouting off the theories proposed by the Nazi party as medical facts should cost the guy his job. But in my view, this presents a nice opportunity.
I say Fox should keep Brian Kilmeade with one condition – that he wear his white robe and hood on Fox und Friends. At the very least a red swastika armband. I’m not saying he should goose-step around the set or that they should change their name to Fox Nazi Channel, but viewers ought to know where he’s coming from, and where Fox News has its priorities. After all, there’s a big market out there that likes white supremacy and “racial purity”. They could make lots of money, and money is what it’s all about, right?
Now, the Aryan lady sitting next to Herr Kilmeade looked a little uncomfortable with his comments on “pure genes” and this would give her a chance to express her true feelings on the matter. If she doesn’t like his white robe and hood, she could drape herself in the American flag – you know, the one that so many Americans fought and died under to fight such ideas. But if she’s down with it, they could all join hands and sing “Deutschland Uber Alles” at the end of the show. I have a feeling Doocey might be game.
This is all tongue in cheek, of course – a flippant look at a serious subject. Fox News has a history of race-baiting, but this is something very different. Because what this supposed news channel has done by not firing him is to give its blessing to the very ideas that Adolph Hitler, Hermann Goering, and Joseph Goebbels propagated to such devastating effect. Kilmeade has his right to free speech, but Fox has its obligation to stand up to Nazism.
