Are they good or bad?
So our mascots for Vancouver were revealed today, and I must personally say that I dislike them very much, I don’t see why they couldn’t have picked regular native creatures to British Columbia. It seems like we have lost once again, especially after the ending ceremonies of 2006, depicting a Inuit hunter on a sled, ice fishing. These things do not represent BC, and they definitely do not represent Vancouver.
Why are the mascots mix of creatures, part bear part bird, part whale, part bear. The only one that seems to fit alright is the sasquatch, and even that seems to be a little rough. Why don’t they look real?
Why do they have to look like animated cartoon characters? I realize the only thing they’re hoping for is that kids will want them and complain till their parents get them one, which will work evidently because it works with everything else, but don’t you think they could have had a little spirit bear, and sold a zillion little cuddly bears to kids just as well?
I’m kind of at a loss once again, looking at what our Olympic committee has produced for us. They seem to be quite similar to the mascots that were revealed for this years events in Beijing don’t they? Oh well, I guess what is done is done.
