An examination of the history of the shooter makes it clear that political correctness was involved in his slipping through the cracks.
It is not clear how Major Hassan

attained the rank of major or what he was doing in the Army. The man accused of slaughtering 13 people at Ft Hood Texas was a discipline problem and publicly supported homicide bombers. In fact his fellow students in medical school complained about his attitudes and behavior. The reason why the major was not written up as a discipline problem was that people were worried about being insensitive to his religion. After all, we have a president with an Muslim middle name, so who knows what harm could come to the careers of those who officially questioned the Major reluctance to fight in the middle east?
In the military an enlisted man can get a medal called a good conduct medal for good behavior. Officers such as captains and majors can not get good conduct medals because they good conduct is assumed. It is further assumed that without good conduct one can not attain such ranks. And finally, an officer who is a discipline problem is by definition unpromotable particularly in a service such as the Army where it is assumed that an officer can and will lead men. How can a man who is a discipline problem be an example to the soldiers who are supposed to follow him into battle?
By the hypersensitivity to the mere mention of his middle name before he took office, and his bending over backwards with respect to the very nation that produced 14 of the 19, 9/11 hijackers, President Barack Hussein Obama may have made it difficult discipline a Major Hassan.
The army high command has asserted that it will root out anti-Muslim sentiment and rightly so but the standard must hold. If a neo Nazi skin head could not become an officer or be promoted after expressing hatred or stating that the government is illegitimate then any one, irrespective of his beliefs or religion should be held to the same standard. How many have to die for political correctness?

The man’s name was Hasan not Hussein. If you can’t get a fact as simple as a name correct, why would anyone believe any of the other drivel you spew.
