Recently I’ve been hearing many complaints on how American soldiers are behaving in Iraq and right now I just want to put in my opinion.
Before you read this article I would like to state that this is purely my personal opinion and not fact becuase fact does not take sides.
Often I hear about controversy in how Soldiers are acting during the war in Iraq and many negative feelings toward the treatment. Honestly right now though I would like to defend these Soldiers since I feel no one else is. Firstly I would like to state beforehand though I am not a supporter of the War in Iraq. I only support the Soldiers who fight in it as ordered by our country. I don’t know why people always think that the Soldiers want to go in the war, normally they want to get out, they’re just doing their duty as they had signed up too. Also, even if they do want to go to war, what is the problem with that? It just makes it easier for them to risk their lives and protect us even if we don’t feel we need to be.
Secondly, people always complain about rapes and murders that happen in the war by a soldier’s hand. Rape and Unauthorized murder is bad, but please don’t judge every soldier becuase a few have been stuck in a WAR ZONE for a rather long time and lost a few marbles under the heat then commited crimes that we not in a WAR ZONE know as atrocious. Why am I repeating war zone in capital letters? Because that is what these Soldiers are in and people who are so quick to judge our soldiers don’t understand what that’s like. Honestly, I don’t even understand really… But what I do understand is a war zone can truley mess some one up and is probably a close comparison to the Christian Belief of Hell. From what I can guess, things get blown up, people die in front of these soldiers, and they have to deal with it nearly every day in Iraq. It can’t be easy to keep sanity with all that trouble.
Lastly the news always shines at the negatives of the War and Military, but never the positives. Then people only assume negative goes on. Sometimes I wish that they would highlight the great things that the military is doing for Iraq, like rebuilding or maybe helping some Iraqi civilian in some way. Since I don’t always want to hear the negatives, sometimes we need positives, that way we get hope. With hope we all can progress by working for and together to either end the war quickly or win it smoothly. In World War two and World War one people showed support and positive things going on and look how great they did. So I just hope we can highlight on the positives, whether you like the war or not, a supported soldier is a happy soldier, and a happy soldier is a winning soldier. =)
