It was a shock across the country as Alaska governor Sarah Palin announced her resignation.

  Lt. Governor Sean Parnell will take over Sarah Palin’s duties in late July.  Palin is resigning her governor’s seat in the last year of office before re-elections would be sought.  Many Americans are haunted with the same question.  Why would a governor leave office just a year before their term was over?  Many politicians and voters alike are perplexed by the Alaska governor’s What will be next for this soon-to-be ex-governor of Alaska?  Are her thoughts turning to dreams of higher office?  Is the United States presidency a position she is striving for next?  Only Sarah Palin knows her reasons for leaving.  Her supportive family and questioning political career will carry her forward.  Perhaps there is a greater reward for this governor yet to come.
