Gaddafi, Lybia’s Dictator Dethroned

First of all, let me ask you something: is it possible for any leader, (doesn’t matter how scary or powerful) to stay in power if the people wants him to leave and are fighting to accomplish that?
Corporate media reports about people who are protesting Gaddafi like they are on the completely right side while Gaddafi supporters are presented like minority of the people who are mostly fighting alongside with the police against “protesters”.
But it seems that things are not going as planned, Gaddafi is still ruling the country.
Libya is still free.
That’s why we can hear about sanctions and recently even military intervention in Libya.
You can see it every day in the news now and the reason is that they may be preparing the invasion to remove Gaddafi from rule and to bring Iraq style DEMOCRACY to the people of Libya.
World leaders are suddenly full of it about “Gaddafi dictator”.
Like he wasn’t there all these years?
They are lying to us and they are trying to get away with it like so many times before.
Gaddafi Will Not Be Removed From Power, Unless Western Governments Use Brute Force.

here i completely disagree with u.bcoz the use of brute force may solve the crisis but u r not looking at the long run impacts of using foreign forces to solve local crisis .The force may help libya dethrow the gaddafi autocratic government but these “western government” will take other “benefits” after liberating libya.they may not leave the country like in soudi arabia .Like they did with Soudi saving them from Iraq they didnt actually leave the country and made some pact with the government and now taking oil from them as much as they like. The western countries may select a candidate in their favour after removing gaddafi. So i think leave it to the people will be better in this case.VIA i will appreciate if u go through mi ones.
How about Eastern governments using brute force?
not in USA
fingers burned . . . think west will stay out of this one
i think no external force should intervene .i m just using using usa as a reference.they all r allies….
interesting read
good work,,,,
I agree, but unfortunately the current US President views his military with disdain. Any use of it (in Obama’s mind) would constitute his approval of Western colonialism. He will refrain from any support like he did in Iran in 2009. And like Iran, many good and innocent freedom fighters will die for it.
I don’t support ground warfare, but at least set up a no-fly zone. Even with overwhelming Arab support, he just won’t do it. And I agree with you seiva7… he has been there all along and we have allowed it. There is still time to make right what we did wrong. Where is Reagan when you need him?
IndGAVet it seems that you get this article completely wrong.
I am completely against any intervention in Libya especially when the “protests” were started by secret services for a shady goals.
Maybe I did. I am mixed on the issue, it’s complicated. There are positives and negatives for both sides. But your title reads like brute force is needed to remove a brutal dictator. One thing you are correct on, America has too long ignored it’s obligation to freedom for all at the expense of allowing brutality from so called friends. But, it is the way of the world.
and you read titles only?
And it is not America, it is global corporations that are ruling the America…
Why do I get the distinct feeling that Gaddafi may have been right afterall in saying that the west is only intervening in Libya because of the oil? Now, I don’t like Gaddafi for one bit but just what the hell are we doing in Libya? It seems as though our leaders haven’t got a single clue as to how to remove him or even exactly who these rebels are. Now they will start arming the rebels in the name of ‘protecting civilians’. I would be extremely weary of any group that asks us to bomb their country in the name of overthrowing their leader- imagine if American rebels were to ask China to bomb Washington DC to remove the president??? This whole thing in Libya is just getting very messy indeed, now that Obama and his cronies in Europe have stated regime change as their aim.
Tina, thank you for your comments on Libya war and Gaddafi.
I appreciate it and I like it.
