Will Pakistan fight a US war?
USA and Pakistan are a long time strong allies but the recent US special forces raid on the Pakistani soil in which they killed (?) world known terrorist Osama bin Laden led to cooling of the relationship between two countries.
Pakistan is one of the strong, respected countries.
With the population of more than 170 million, total area of almost 800 000 square kilometers and seventh largest military in the world capable of performing nuclear missiles launch Pakistan is one of the important countries in the World today.
Geography of Pakistan is very diverse and certainly, any invasion force would have big trouble fighting effectively in the desert, mountains, hills, forests, hills and rivers of Pakistan.
As USA-Pakistan relationship is worse than ever, China is using the opportunity to become closer to Pakistan, which could be an important ally to them.
The question everybody would like to see answered is: Can the USA afford losing strongest non-NATO ally of Pakistan to China?
Or USA is ready for one more war?
Serious war this time?
The USA will not attack alone, probably together with UK and other strong NATO countries but even with that strong force combined, Pakistan, backed up by China could prove to be very hard enemy to fight.
It seems like the war in Pakistan is closer than ever, the only question is what is the reason…
Will USA attack on Pakistan be the last breath of the USA, United States suicide mission?
Can the USA afford having their bases and soldiers throughout the world and at the same time fight a few wars and then even enter a major one with strong country like Pakistan?

Hopefully this won’t happen. After all, enough troubles and disasters occurred recently and another war is the last thing we need right now.

No comments. Pakistan can be squashed in no time. The West has kept Pakistan at bay for a reason. Pakistan has become very very weak from within. It is waiting to implode and crumble without any country invading or waging a war against it. The country can barely fight a war for more than 2 weeks based on its logistics.

I think you are wrong.
Pakistan is huge country with a large population and 7th largest army in the world, more than 100 nuclear warheads and has been constantly upgrading it’s navy and air force.
any country attacking would be facing long hard war.
I would urge all peace loving individuals across the world to pressurize US to avoid direct conflict with Pakistan resulting in world catastrophic and the most dangerous war the people may have ever seen. I would also like to caution (hp) not to underestimate capabilities and skills of the people of Pakistan, God forbid if the war is triggered in the region it will be a disaster for the whole world. World community should not consider Pakistan as an easy target like Iraq and Afghanistan, any misadventure would risk millions of lives

US lost 60 000 + soldiers in a war against a third world nation(vietnam) even though americans enjoyed complete air superiority.With a technological edge and renowned army US still couldnt crush the
NVA or the vietcong who were mostly armed with world war 2 era weaponry…
i.e T34, mosin nagant rifles etc.
Pakistan is no pushover
With the worlds 7 th largest army armed with nuclear weapons and whose airforce is undergoing a complete overhaul to meet the challenges of the21st century
US will have to reconsider military options against pakistan.
Pakistan if not attack mainland US will surely decimate US bases and naval fleets
within range of its missiles

remember that Pakistan is one of the world most populous country with a very diverse geography and harsh climate conditions.

USA will have to be absolutely foolish to do so. It will be the final blow to US after 10 years of protracted war. Pakistan is NOT an easy desert terrain like Iraq. Neither is its army like Saddam Hussain’s i.e, for ceremonial purposes. And any country wanting an incursion in Pakistan is severely miscalculating the national character of its people. Times may be tough and Pakistanis have gone through a lot of trouble, but its a nation that has historically ALWAYS rallied together in times of tension (1965 Indo-Pak war, 2005 earthquake, 2010 floods etc). USA shouldnt count on the irregular separatist sentiments because its ’sponsored’ by it more than being indigenous. If it enters, and I assume it will be stupid enough to do so, it will be an extremely costly war, breaking all previous records because the volatile situation will become too big for USA’s own shoes. Diplomatically, China of course has its own stakes in Pakistan and will protect it. Afghan Mujahideen will be activated once again by the ISI for yet another ‘holy war’. Iran would hate to see NATO encircling it. And Turkey, with its decent military and recent Islamist uprising will certainly aid as is apparent from Erdogan’s policy. Doesnt look too clean, does it?

talking of logistics, what do you think would happen if the NATO shipments to A-tan via Pakistan were either stopped or constantly ambushed? US army will crumble first in A-tan and then a long war in Pakistan. And btw, I wonder what the Republicans sitting back home would have to say to Obama when all this happens, provided that they are already feuding over a ‘US debt crisis’. Never thought I’d hear this term in the context of USA. USA is also getting pretty weak. Pakistan has a terrain that can enable it to fight a guerrilla war. And, NO superpower has ever been able to overcome this kind of war. Case in point, Vietnam, Korea and A-tan.

I agree with you; USA would face disaster if enter any kind of “intervention” in Pakistan…
First of all, China would not endanger it’s very profitable economic relationship with the US over some third world toilet like Pakistan. China has become a “Capitalist Communist” country. It economic security is tied up in knots with the US. Second, it seems most of you are underestimating the US military capabilities and overestimating Pakistan’s. In Vietnam, the US military was still using outdated equipment and weapons for a while and were constricted militarily by politics. That was not even considered a war. The US was sitting in South Vietnam basically wandering around waiting to be attacked. If it was war, the US would have invaded North Vietnam and reduced it to cinders. Pakistan has no technology in comparison to the US. They have outdated SAM’s and their air force is a joke in comparison to the US.
Air superiority is the key to military victory, and the US owns the air. The US owns most of space as well which includes the satellites. Pakistan’s puny nuclear arsenal would not amount to shit. They would not use a single one if they had any intelligence. They have no real long range nuke capabilities and if they even attempted to launch one, the US would shoot it down and nuke their country back to the bronze age.
Pakistan has no real special forces pool compared to the US either. If the full might of the US military was directed at Pakistan it would be like putting a magnifying glass over an anthill. Let’s hope this doesn’t happen….

Seiva 7, are you joking? No body has even seen the US in a real war since WWII. All these other little conflicts the US has been in are completely different. In Iraq for example, the point isn’t to “invade a country” or wage war there or in Afghanistan. The citizens in the US aren’t even really affected by these conflicts.
If the US really goes to war, everyone will know it. If the US actually declared war on Pakistan with allies, the Paki’s are dead. If the US beefs up its forces and roars into Pakistan with the intent to destroy the country it will not last very long. The US would use a scorched earth policy and ruin the country destroying any chance for a guerrilla war. If the US only cares about destroying a country and not occupying or defending the country they will completely destroy said country.
Like I said, China will never disrupt the economic gains they are making with the US and all US allies. China may huff and puff at some things the US does but will full of hot air. It is a global market now with China and US at the top holding hands. When the Chinese business man who was responsible for the lead in toys found out the US business community was angry at him, he committed suicide. I guess China cares, they really care, how sweet. The US and China will tip toe around each other but if the US does decide that they really need to invade Pakistan, China may bitch, but won’t lift a finger either way.

its strange to see people are forgetting a very important point which is indeed a game changer …. USA today is not what it was in 2001. Then it had not had real wars for decades, lots of money, no one to challenge its supreme position.
Today, the USA is battle-torn, cash strapped country, low morale military, highest un-employment rate back home, soldiers committing suicides and is about to lose Kabul to Talibans. Not to forget China is known to the world as tomorrow’s super-power which is proven by recent rebukes sent by China to the US. This was unheard of.
Pakistan has a terribly weak economy but these people are very strong in coming back. Like Talibans vanished when US attacked with all its superior air force only to find talibans everywhere except kabul. If an attack happens, Pak will fight hard in the beginning, then collapse only to rise back in guerilla warfare — this will be final death to US.
China will probably not directly jump into the fight but backdoor it will do a lot as always. Chinese are wise, not stupid like americans.

dear friends it is nice n easy to comment upon the wars between the countries and nations sitting in front of PCs but thing how much disaster these bring to them.these should not happen often. there are a lot battles which humanity have to fight, any way i think it will not be an easy fight between the two. they both will have to pay.difference is only this that pakis will have to fight for their existence and americans to fun. and i think survival is a more powerful passion which may equalize the technology. lets we pray for no wars
Americans are not stupid. They will never contemplate a full scale ground invasion to Pakistan but boy.. they have the capabilities to flatten most of Pakistan’s war machines from air. They will certainly do this one day. Both USA & Israel can not, and will not sleep peacefully until they neutralise Pak nukes. according to conform media reports, in 1986 and 1998, Israel try to destroy Pak Nuke sites wth the help of USA and India but Pak know b4 the attack. they send msg to USA that if this will happen, remember this thing that we will not wait to find who is behind the attack but we know where to hit. in simple words Pakistan will hit Israel immediately. thats why USA stop Israel. no doubt we are week n our leader r corrupt but we hv a quality, when our motherland need, we forget our all problems and unite and work like a team. we love to die in a battle field.

Pakistan is mainly dependent upon its Ballastic Missile and cruise systems in service (No matter who gave us or whether we develop them ourselves or not…. the point is that our fingers are on missile buttons) along with nuclear arsenal which is as per CIA the fastest growing nuclear arsenal in the world…. pakistan has very weak air capability. We canot harm americans with our air capability. Same is the case with navy. Army though is powerfull but we dont have enough resources to maintain that in case of war. But we are good at war patterens other then conventional ones. And believe me no body can beat us in proxy and covert wars. And we remain happy in wars like that. So that will be like eid for us if some country attacks us….yahoooooo that will be a great fun….

I can feel many many things which I canot express here at this forum… But I think this attack is necessary for the rise of Pakistan…. The problem with americans is that they are so much dependant on technology…. So every of their action costs 10 times more expenses then a action by Pakistan. So this gives pakistanis and other enemies a chance to spill american energy as much as they want to exhaution. On the other hand if USA stops her stupidity and start new and sincer relations with Pakistan then this will be much more good for american health.
