My Pop Culture News

I love the fact that as a born American I can enjoy man freedoms that people in other countries cannot.  Here we get the biggest and best platform of freedom ever which is freedom of speech.  Yes there can be arguements on what we really can and cannot say, but this article isn’t about that.  Right here and right now I want to state some concerns I have within our media’s here in America. 

Lately we have been plagued with Swine Flu, a controversial Healthcare Plan, and many other issues which we are mostly living idle through.  One of the biggest reasons why we seem so lost in the information world when it comes to real life situations, is the fact that our major news outlets have become more and more watered down as the years have gone by.  We still get very informative news sometimes, but what gets me upset is we have to have HOT news anchors giving us mostley Pop Culture news, along with celebrity talk ALL the time. 

In our struggling times here in the US we are facing hardships which hopefully our children will not have to endure.  Democrats, Republics, Independents all face the issues of helping us out of this hole but most of us really don’t think they care.  As I switch back and forth between programs we have our niche news stations like ESPN, and E! but why does CNN need to put gossip and celebrities in there news segments?  Locally we get the same old murder, rape, robbed, etc news yet they give us small segments on what is going on in the world and the nation.  I do feel they have a pattern and we have been victims of becoming zombies, while a select few run our country.  As a male heck I like seeing hot chicks but is it necessary when I wonder and fear for our country’s future?  How much are we really listening to them?  Yes we have access to all sorts of news mediums today with the internet at home, and on our cell phones but how many of us really take the time to check it hourly?  If Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Kanye West, and Lebron James were removed from news networks what would we watch?

I know the questions I ask seem like I might not be watching the right things, but you really cannot tell me that we don’t see more of them on tv than we do our own president.  The only time I’ve noticed something big that Obama has said is when he commented on Kanye West or smacked a fly…

All in all for those who have taken the time out to read, and give me the opportunity to be heard I appreciate it.  The next time you sit down to watch your local, cable, or satellite news remember what I said, maybe you will start seeing it too!
