The Ed Schultz Show portends to be a source of information.
The Ed Schultz received a call on Thursday regarding the Health Care Bill being proposed, or should I say what the “Democrats” want the Health Care Bill to be. A caller asked Mr. Schultz if an Amish Family who is “self insured” would have to pay more or be taxed more. Mr. Schultz quickly responded “NO! that’s what they want you to think!” After admitting he did not know what “self insured” meant, he loudly assured the caller with confidence that the family would not lose anything and would not be taxed. ”Sure, no problem!” was his answer. Perhaps Mr. Schultz should educate himself on the subject prior to a radio show that is advertised to give the “honest” answers to the health care issue. The facts Mr. Schultz are that “self insured” does mean private citizens pooling their money together to create their insurance plan. Fact, Mr. Schultz is that a licensed insurance company has to administer the self insured plan! So, you are back to big insurance companies and yes, they do charge a fee. And yes, Mr. Schultz, per the bill being proposed, they will be taxed for having private insurance. So, can we now rest the rhetoric on the radio talk show hosts and cable news programs that are using “scare tactics” to change the people’s minds? At least they are offering accurate information for people to consider. It sure seems better than listening to a host who is guessing at the accuracy. However, we should expect more than that as Mr. Schultz is basically a sportscaster. He has a long history in sportscasting and some of it not a good history because he has lost control during a broadcast. If this is where voters seek to obtain the information, we are in sad shape.
