United States to the Left, Europe to the Right?

While the United States Government continues to move towards the economic and social left, European countries that have been predominantly left are moving to the economic and social center and center right.

As Americans we continue to blame our economic problems on the conservatives in our government. Blaming the recession on an unbalance of wealth. Many believe the rich in this country have not been doing their part, if we had more government control and interference then this recession would not have happened. Yet the socially ran countries of Europe are taking a very different approach to who is to blame for this recession.  They see the economic down turn as a result of too much government and too much government control.

The Socialist Countries of Europe have relied on American Capitalism to insure their way of life. Our long-standing beliefs of limited Government control and interference is the reason the American people believe in personal responsibility and that all Americans have the right to succeed. Americans find success by taking control of their lives. These beliefs have made the United States the economic driving force in the world. Our capitalistic economic system is the reason why other countries have looked to us and relied on us for their socialized governments stability. American capitalism creates jobs, inspires new developments in technology, industrial and medical sciences and advances economic and social ideas. Yet we are choosing to move away from these believes. As we continue to move to the left the rest of the world is realizing they must also change, we are seeing the world move to the right.

The EU Parliament elections ended this week. Germany, France, Italy and Belgium awarded seats to right leaning or conservative candidates and Britain is expected to elect a conservative nominee later this year.  These are all countries that have been socially and economically to the left for a long time. These are countries that are now seeing that a country can only be strong by allow the people to be strong and Government control weakens the individuals desire to succeed.

As we continue to move to the Left as a country we are giving up more than our independence from government control, we are losing our role as the stabling economic force in the world.
