This is a plan to boost up America’s economy.

Obama is moving foward with what he has called as his top priority: an economic stimulus package called the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan”. His goal is to create more jobs and boost up the economy because we are in  such an economic crisis. The stimulus package is focused on helping the low and middle-income Americans. A goal is set to create 3 million jobs over the next 2 years.

Obamas officials have announced that they would like congress to direct 40% of the stimulus package to tax breaks aimed at businesses and middle class workers. Most workers will receive a $500 payroll credit and businesses will receive incentives for making more jobs and purchasable products. Democratic leaders are also thinking of making unemployment benefits and health coverage to assist jobless workers because economists predict unemployment will reach up to 10% by the end of 2009. Obama also wants to make jobs that help the environment called “green jobs”.
