Barry, you couldn't be more dead-on with this.

I still say that the American people should have the option of "NONE OF THE ABOVE" on the ballots. That way, if they don't like who's running, they can vote against them ALL and force them to have yet another run-off until we get the type of politicans that we really want = HONEST.

Barack Obama is a joke, yet MOST people fail to see that. As you stated, they aren't "listening" to what he's saying. They are just viewing his smile and are being charmed by his charisma and nothing more. At least with McCain we know his track record and the fact that he does in fact have experience and actually answers the tough questions and doesn't flip-flop on them. But honestly, I don't want either of them, and Biden's clearly "politics as usual" and Palin's just too inexperienced.

In regards to the fact that "People Should Be Ashamed" - just visit your local Courthouse and take a look at who's attending jury duty.

Smart people, with a lack of morals mind you, are able to get out of it. While those who can't get out of jury duty are the ones who let career criminals back on the streets, politicians off the hook for embezzlement, and so forth.

As the old saying goes, "If you don't vote, you lose your right to complain". The shame is that in today's world, people don't care about shame anymore...
You're right, Barry, we need to stay engaged in the process. We also need to model...and demand...respect, civility, and honor. Maybe if we demand that kind of candidate, we'll get one.

I agree with you 100%. If more people actually got involved, as well as paid attention, we wouldn't be in the huge mess we are today. Don't be another of those idiots who don't believe their vote doesn't count.

You're absolutely right. Too many people say they care and don't do what's necessary to show they care. Not that it means they don't care, they just need to do more than just say they care. Actions speak louder than words.
