Justice Liberron has at last submitted his report on Babri Masjid issue after a period of 17 years.

Justice Liberron, submitted his enquiry commission report on the Babri Masjid issue
There is a popular saying in politics: ‘If you want to procrastinate a problem without solving it, just appoint an enquiry commission; it will take care of everything.’

Justice Liberron justified the above saying by getting as many as 48 extensions for his enquiry commission from the Government of India on the issue of ‘Babri Masjid demolition. In the process, the Government of India has lost crores of rupees from its exchequer. Perhaps the cost involved in the enquiry commission was heavier than the invaluable ‘Babri Masjid itself.

No one can deny that the demolition of ‘Babri Masjid was an affront on the secular fabric of India.A national monument was ruthlessly and shamelessly demolished by the Hindu fundamentalists and religious bigots. It was carefully manipulated and maneuvered with the blessings of a political party and its supporters by sending volunteers from all over India.

Going a step further, to perform this act of sacrilege, the fundamentalists even trained the volunteers in the interior forests of Madhya Pradesh.

The Muslim people, residing in India, still believe in the secular set up of India. They have been mentally disturbed. A section of the Muslim radicals are even now celebrating the date of Babri Masjid demolition as a black day.

Since the proceedings of the Justice Liberron enquiry commission were held for 17 long years, thousands of witnesses including the popular political leaders like L.K.Advani were interrogated by the commission.

Justice Liberron submitted his report today to the Prime Minister of India, Dr.Manmohan Singh. However, the contents of the report were not leaked out. Mr.P.Chidambaram, the Home Minister of India has said that the Liberron commission report will be tabled in the Parliament in its forthcoming session.

The BJP President Mr.Rajnath Singh questioned the undue delay involved in the submission of the Justice Liberron Commission Report. Though the criticism might have emanated from the leader of the opposition party, no one can deny that it has got substance.

There is yet another saying in the judicial parlance, ‘Delayed justice is a denied Justice.Let us hope it will not happen in the case of ‘Babri Masjid Issue. The real culprits who were involved in the demolition of Babri Masjid, should be brought to the book. Then only India will stand out as a social, sovereign, secular and democratic republic in their real sense.
