Oh, the irony!
OK, now that I’ve stopped laughing hysterically, lets get down to business. Just in case anyone may have forgotten, Al Franken wrote a book. This was after he was on Saturday Night Live, but before becoming a Senator in 2008, in his home state of Minnesota. The book is called Lies (And the Lying Liars Who Tell Them): A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right. Today a story just came out about Al Franken. It implies that he may have illegally won his Senate seat…
The struggle for Al Franken to secure his Senate seat was no walk in the park. Minnesota went through 6 months of recounts before declaring Franken the narrow margin winner. Now, it seems that at least 341 convicted felons had their votes counted towards Franken’s win. The Minnesota Majority (conservative watchdog group) came to this conclusion after an 18 month study following the election.
This is all a bit of a problem because after the 6 month long recount, it was determined that Franken only won by a margin of 312 votes. The felon votes in question were from the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, which is predominantly democrat voters.
Although the results of the election will not be overturned, the watchdog group is trying to make sure that this never happens again.
Fat chance of corruption ending in politics, on either side of the fence!
