Afghan Taliban rejected Monday information from several media sources say their leader, Mullah Muhammad Omar, was killed in Pakistan, Reuters. Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that Omar is "healthy and all right" in Afghanistan, adding that the information related to the death of Taliban leader is "propaganda."
Afghan Taliban rejected Monday information from several media sources say their leader, Mullah Muhammad Omar , was killed in Pakistan, Reuters. Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that Omar is “healthy and all right” in Afghanistan, adding that the information related to the death of Taliban leader is “propaganda.”
Omar is in Afghanistan and healthy all right, “said Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid. ”We reject these allegations vigorously that Mullah Mohammed Omar was killed,” said Taliban representative told Reuters.

Officials from the security of Pakistan, diplomats, officers and U.S. government authorities in Afghanistan have questioned the information broadcast by a private Afghan television, according to Omar who was killed while traveling with Hamid Gul, a former officer in the service Pakistan’s Information (ISI) between Quetta and North Waziristan. Taliban leader was shot by officers from the ISI.
Mujahid said the information related to Omar’s death is “propaganda to weaken the morale of the enemy fighters.”
Mullah Omar, who is one of the most wanted people in the world, is rarely seen in public. He fled Afghanistan in Quetta (Pakistan), after the Taliban regime was ousted by U.S. backed Afghan forces in late 2001.
The Taliban were toppled from concucerea Afghanistan after it refused to hand over Al-Qaeda leader Americans, Osama bin Laden after the attacks of 11 September 2001, the United States. Osama was gunned down earlier this month by Navy SEAL commando troops in an operation in Pakistan.
Afghan Taliban have vowed to avenge the death of bin Laden.
Reuters says that in the past there have been reports about the death or arrest of Omar. Last week, Pakistani newspapers reported that Taliban leader was captured in Pakistan.
