Although those at the top of the Tea Party are adamant that no agreement be allowed to save the AAA credit rating of the United States of America the grass roots supporters are worried that not paying soldiers on duty in Afghanistan and Iraq is going one step too far. Could this be the end of the Tea Party?

Like the Tea Party in Alice in Wonderland the Tea Party which is holding the American way to blackmail is in complete disarray. The Mad Hatter, the rabbit and the sleeping dormouse are certain about what to do: don’t make an agreement, ensure Social Security is not paid and allow soldiers serving in the United States Army to put their lives on the line while they go unpaid for this service. Of course, the Tea Party leaders do not understand that Social Security (which does not depend on the budget agreement) will be paid come what may.
Tea Party Leaders Disagree with Tea Party Followers
The leaders of the Tea Party are willing to see soldiers go unpaid because their suffering is fine as long as the Tea Party reigns supreme and calls the shots. Unfortunately members of the Tea Party from lower down the economic scales – those which are on average earnings and below and make up the majority of the movement are now uncertain if they should be acting this way. Many of them are ex military and can see the highly de-motivational effects that receiving no pay will have. Honest Tea Party members are also concerned that should this de-motivational effect lead to poor performance in the war that they might have blood indirectly on their hands. After all, they are concluding, it was a pro Tea Party administration which sent “our boys to war” and they should now do all they can to make life for these heroes as good as possible at this highly stressful time for them.
Tea Party Not True Patriots but True Traitors
The longer the Tea Party plays this stand off and threatens the American way with closure the more likely the huge numbers of “average” supporters are going to see more unpatriotic ways emerge from the party who have ring-fenced patriotism for itself. Supporters such as him known as True Patriot were vocal when the dispute started but have been quiet recently. AndAnotherThing believes this is because True Patriot and others of his ilk are reassessing their support.
Maybe the Tea Party is about to shoot itself in the foot. Let’s hope they do it without endangering soldiers and civilians.
I for one hope this will be the end of the tea party, Maybe they are seeing the error of their ways.

I have a tribute to the soldiers, “The Soldier is Higher than the President” at http://socyberty.com/military/the-soldier-is-higher-than-the-president/. I am concerned about their plight… You have deep humanitarian insights, you write well, and I admire you for that.
This has nothing whatsoever to do with the Tea Party. Adm. Mullen told the soldiers himself they may not be paid in Afganistan. How low can you go like they don’t have enough already to worry about and what’s worse he couldn’t answer ANY questions they had creating more anxiety for them. This was Obama’s scare mongering. How freaking low can you leftist get. Crawl back under your rocks.
@Chance – you should really question the crap you come out with. George W Bush increased the debt ceiling 8 times. No complaints from the right then because it was the only way to pay for the wars which they voted for. What, no new wars then no more money? The right caused the deficit to go so high (wars and inept economic monitoring) now they want to make everyday people pay for the deficit they wanted so they could pay for wars and their cronnies could profit. They cannot lose – the richest most ardent defaulter among them don’t even pay taxes.
Here’s where I pray that some people who post comments about politics get locked up in a mental ward so they can’t vote…or get shot.
