A fictional perspective of factual circumstances.
Imagine living in a place where only the top 5% of the people controlled 90% of all wealth.
The leader of this place has personally delivered all of the liquid assets from the treasury to the wealthiest people through tax breaks and other means. This leader got this place into a military conflict on two fronts asserting false facts for factual information. The ensuing cost the the people is yet to be calculated because of the way in which this leader requested funding for this cause. From conservative sources though, it seems that approximately $1.3 trillion dollars were spent and/or allocated.
In this place, the ‘Wall Participants’ control 90% of all of the wealth known to exist. That leaves 10% to be used by government (9%) and the rest (1%). One may ask where does all the wealth go? The fact is that intentional blindness is woven into the various products produced by the ‘Wall Participants’ that the people that are supposed to stop corruption and enforce an equal playing field for all to follow were also part of the problem that has created this place.
The 5% or the ‘Wall Participants’ even after all of the corruption and overindulgence were handed with few to no restrictions $700 billion in more money that belonged to the 95% of the people meaning the average taxpayer that has always lived by the rule of law never wasting other peoples money.
This place has a history of innovation and even revolution when it was necessary to repair some of the previous practices and resolutions that were practiced. The difference from previous events to now are not substantially different in most regards. There are definite areas of unrest and strife with little to no hope of recovery, yet there is a strong feeling of things about to change. Will it get better? Will it get worse? What could possibly happen to make things turn around?
One possibility that this place currently faces if the fact of steadily increasing unemployment and foreclosure that displaces people from their homes but also from communities in great numbers. As the people move away from the distressed areas the value of real property decreases making any future investment risky. The increasing numbers of vacant properties will make some areas seem like some of the old west ghost towns.
As the cancer spreads across this place, the picture could suddenly change if the top 5% were brought to bear for the results of their actions and practices in front of a viable review board that has the expertise to unravel the hidden truths in the financial documents and credentials created by their interests.
After accountability is restored and over time some trust can be renewed in a more comprehensive and open policy for all corporate governance including setting all compensation by tying it directly to the minimum wage. Once the steps were in place for this to happen our place we call home would be more favorably suited for all residents and not just a few.
