My nightly routine includes watching the nightly news. When I was a child I became fascinated with the news, not because it was interesting and it was far better than any soap opera I have ever viewed, but because my grandmother who was once an influential and respected elder to me (a young, impressionable and naïve girl at the time) thought it was worth paying attention to. I found myself wanting to do what she did. At first I thought the news was boring and filled with adult drama. At the time I would much rather watch cartoons and play with my first batch of Lego’s I received Christmas of ‘82. I belief my cartoon drug of choice was “He-Man” and “She-Ra”.
