John McCain won the Republican presidential nomination by being a maverick. But at that time, he was a maverick and people supported him, at least on the GOP side. Oh and he didn’t have Sarah Palin standing next to him. Now, the tide is turning against him with even some members of his own party turning their backs on him. Surely, Palin is a huge reason. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have debuted on SNL several weeks ago!
