Vodafone Group Was Forced to Send Pro-mubarak Texts

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s government has forced Vodafone to send prescripted, propaganda messages during the recent unrest, the carrier said in a statement on its website.

A text message from a person identified as "Vodafone" was sent to an Associated Press reporter in Egypt on Sunday to call the countries of "honest and loyal men to deal with the traitors and criminals and protect our people and honor "according to a report by the Palestinian Authority.

Obama Eyes Unfolding Events in Egypt

President Barack Obama has requested "multiple briefings" on the advance crisis in Egypt, area bags of demonstrators were clashing with aegis forces, White House agent Tommy Vietor said Friday.

Obama has not alleged Egyptian Admiral Hosni Mubarak — the ambition of the protesters’ acrimony — "but there is circadian acquaintance amid the U.S. and Egyptian governments through assorted channels, including the embassies and added organizations in which Obama’s letters and apropos are relayed," Vietor said.
