Seasons of Human History: Are We on the Cusp of a Long Cold Winter?
We Canadians are well acquainted with the yearly cycle of four seasons. Travel with me if you would, as I track through the last hundred or so years of human history using the metaphor of a four season cycle: the winter of the Great Depression; through the springtime of the Baby Boomer generation; the extravagant and colorful summer of hippies and the counter culture movement; to the autumn season that (in my opinion) is now coming to an end. Is the current economic crisis a sign that a new winter is just around the corner?

While we are all aware of the main five seasons of the year, the sixth is the longest and based on the less consuming.
