Lhakpa Tenzing Sherpa now holds world record for climbing Mt. Everest for the 19th time.
Born in Thame, a small village of Nepal, Lhakpa Tenzing Sherpa now holds world record for climbing Mt. Everest for the 19th time. He had managed to be the only person to summit Mt. Everest for 19 times breaking his own previous record.

Addressed as “Apa” he was born in 1960s he took responsibility of his whole family including his mother, two brothers and two sisters after his father’s death at his age of 12. He survived by doing small odd jobs until he got the opportunity to summit in 1990. He made his first successful campaign in 1990 along with New Zealand team including the son of Edmund Hillary- Peter Hillary. On 21st May 2009, Apa made his 19Th attempt by climbing Mt. Everest and wrote his name in the history of mountain climber’s list as successful climber of Mt. Everest more than anyone else. His 19 successful campaigns were undertaken on following dates.

Apa and his family had moved to United States for better education and lives in Salt Lake City. He also owns Clothing Corporation in United States and an Education foundation in Nepal.
