My goodbye message for Mrs. Aquino, the mother of the Philippines.
President Corazon “Cory” Aquino died of cardiopulmonary arrest after complications of colon cancer at age 76 on August 1, 2009, her native country, the Philippines. Mrs. Aquino was diagnosed with the cancer early last year but still kept herself public to work for the continuous change of the Philippines. She was the first woman who became president of a country in Southeast Asia and she succeeded a dictator of the country. Her courage of leading the Filipinos becomes free from years Martial Law on 1980’s. Her husband was assassinated on those Martial Law years made her decided to stand up and become a leader of the country. Her great contributions to Philippine Independence from the dictator Ferdinand Marcos and his wife Imelda is more accounted in EDSA revolution history.

She was indeed the most loved woman of the country and also known the most loved mother of the Philippines. She was the face of democracy of the country.
Her term has ended in 1992 succeeded by President Ramos. After her, no other better presidents ever lead the country again.

A lot of world leaders and know personalities commemorated her and said their last goodbyes. Including the President of Timor-Leste, President of Russia, President of South Africa, US State Secretary of State, Pope Benedict XVI, former President of the Philippines, and other personalities who said Mrs. Aquino is a courageous woman in her rights.

She will be buried on August 5 but forever will be missed and thanked by her countrymen. She inspired everyone both in and out of the Philippines and her contributions will surely be unforgotten. Goodbye Mother of the Philippines; goodbye Mrs. Aquino –May you rest in peace.
