Is it really our fault? Who else to be blame?

It is said that it is the President Aquino’s fault because he did not deal well with the hostage crisis in Quirino Grandstand. It is also said that we should blame our dear policemen for not taking the hostage crisis seriously. It is also said that we should blame the Ombudsman for kicking Mendoza from his job. It is said that we should blame the media for covering the tragic event. Other said that we should blame Mendoza, the cause of the hostage taking in Quirino Grandstand. Because of this tragic event, my dad is afraid in riding buses. So, we are not able to go to Ortigas often by riding a bus. As you can see, my dad and I are Chinese too.

Our dear President Aquino has no fault of this because he tried to do his job. I can also feel the pressure that he has on that day. Questions that are bothering in his mind like, “What will be his answer to the Hong Kong spoke person?” or “Should he call the Hong Kong president first of what happening?”

The media always does its job. Covering the latest issues and events especially this one. A professor in Mass Communication in University of the Philippines said that the media is not good negotiators so why do we bother to include them, am I right with that? But, does everybody know that? Therefore, when there is hostage taking arise, they always call for media to cover and to negotiate with the authorities.

Our dear policemen works in our poor country. Therefore, we do have poor equipment and training. Therefore, the government takes note of that so they will be building up the elite task forces to prepare in handling those tragic events like that.

Ombudsman? Is it his fault? I don’t think so. There are reasons why they file a case against Mendoza. And about kicking him from his job, there is also a good reason.

Our dear former policeman Mendoza is emotional unstable when he is doing the hostage taking. Of course it is his fault. But for the Hong Kong Chinese who are disappointed at the Philippines local task force, they should not focus much their hatred to our country. Besides, Philippines is another third world country with poor economy. Another advice to be given to them, I have read a Catholic prayer book entitled Prayer Starters for Angry People. It is said, “It is not raining on you. It is just raining.” Tragedies happen all the time like typhoons and earthquakes. If these Chinese nationalities are the victims of the killings, it is not said that the Philippines have hatred on Chinese people. And, you may assume it in a vice versa situation.

Therefore, we should pray a lot. Pray for the souls of the Chinese nationalities who are killed in the tragedy. May their souls be rest in peace. We also should pray for the good relationship between China and Philippines. I hope that this would not harbor any grievances between two parties. This is another tragedy. Therefore, there is no one’s fault. It usually happened. May God will guide us. =)
