Strong Earthquake Shook Japan, Tsunami Warning
Strong earthquake 7.1 on the Richter scale removed from the east coast of Japan on Sunday, prompting authorities to issue tsunami warning.
The earthquake occurred at 9:57 (0057 GMT),There were no immediate reports of casualties or material damage.
The epicenter was located about 200 kilometers off the coast of Miyagi prefecture, and the depth was 10 km below the seabed, said the Japan Meteorological Agency.
The quake, with a depth of 10.00 km, was initially determined to be 38.0000 degrees north latitude, 143.5000 degrees east longitude.
The quake was felt in Tokyo and many cities in Europe. The bullet train service was temporarily interrupted in northern Japan.
Tsunami warning system was prefectures of Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima. A small tsunami of up to 50 cm are expected along the affected areas.
There were no abnormalities were reported by Tokyo Electric Power Co. plant nuclear Fukushima earthquake.
On March 11, an earthquake and ensuing tsunami devastated the northern coast of Japan, leaving nearly 14,000 dead and paralyzed the nuclear facility in Fukushima.
