Due to a fraud preventative measure which requires all voters to dip their finger in a purple solution, it has enabled members of the Taliban to recognize voters in an instant and cut off the finger in question.

Taliban militants have been out in force once again, harassing the inhabitants of Afghanistan. Two voters that had dipped in the purple ink were attacked by Taliban militants in the province of Kandahar, shortly after voting.
Rumors that such activity would take place during voting were spread far before the elections were to take place. Whilst a Taliban spokesman said that such attacks would not take place, we are once again faced with the mistruths that the Taliban represent. It has been alleged that Independent commanders of the Taliban are responsible for authorizing the attacks.
Many Afghan residents have been too frightened to vote following the threats made prior to the event. In particular, the South of Afghanistan seemed to suffer the most as no less than twenty six Afghan civilians and security members were killed during the militant attacks.

In many so-called democracies, elections are questionable at best. Voting is often moot.
Ken Bultman spoke so wisely and is so true! It is a shame that such things happen in places and there’s nothing you can do but feel sorry for them because these places will take a long time to get rid of that corruption. Good article that brings out the true colours of some hidden truths.
Interesting article! It’s amazing how voting is different from one country to another. Since I’m from America, I have never heard of that.
Cruel thing to happen. I don’t know which is worse, getting sent to prison for life – for a crime one did not commit or getting fingers cut off??????? Well written article here.
