Information regarding the qualifications of voters in the Phil.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and the 1987 Philippine Constitution stated that the right to vote is for all, all the people are equal on the right to be elected and all the vote are sacred.

The Philippine government set the qualifications for voting. What are these….
- An individual should be a citizen of the Philippines.
- He/She should be in 18 years of age and above in the day of election.
- He/she was able to stay in the country for the period of one year, in the city or municipality where he/she intends to vote.
- Individuals abroad who still have the right to vote under the R.A 9189 or the Overseas Absentee Voting Law.
- Filipino immigrants who posses an affidavit or document that stated an intention to live or stay again in the Philippines.
- Those who permanenently live outside the Philippines but posses an affidavit or document that stated an intention to live again in the Philippines.
Who are disqualified…….
- Those individual who was sentenced to be inprison for one year and up
- Those individual that was found guilty under the offense of rebellion,cedession, and other crimes that treathens national security or offense that is related in betraying the government.
- Individuals who was proven to have a mental-deffeciency.
- Those who are not citizens of the Philippines.
- Those who lost thier Filipino citizenship and pledged loyalty to other countries.
- Those who commit an offense of disloyalty under Art. 137 of the Revised Penal Code

Former Pres Joseph Estrada has been in prison for more than a year, dat means he’s not qualified and vote and be voted upon?
