Austin Powers Star in Prison Murder Probe
A former Austin Powers villain is prime suspect in the murder of his prison cell-mate.
Joseph Hyungming Son is best known as Random Task, villain from the movie Austin Powers-International Man Of Mystery. But in recent years he has been more notorious for his off-screen action, his actions on Monday will solidify him as a villain.
In 1990 Son kidnapped a woman and tortured and raped her over a period of time. The actor then thought he had gotten away with his crime until 2008, when a search on DNA matched him to the incident, after he was arrested for committing another offence. That crime put Son behind bars for life.
Monday and prison wardens discovered a fifty year old man dead in his cell, murdered. Son was the mans cellmate, and only person within contact of the man at the time of his death. The man was serving two years in prison at Wasco State Prison in Kern County for failing to register as a sex offender.
An internal investigation continues.
