India scramble a fighter jet to intercept a Air Frace plane.

An Air France plane entered Indian Air space and was unable it identify itself.
The flight from Paris to Bangkok entered Indias airspace after flying over Pakistan. 
The reason that the MiG-29 was scramble was because the Air France A-343 was the pilot was unable to state his Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) code. This is the code used by ground radar to differentiate between friendly and enemy aircraft
Edventually when the correct code was given,the MiG was told to ” Break off and return to base” an air force official said.
A report has been filed with the Indian civil aviation authorities over the incidend, says  Flight Lt Priya Joshi.
The Air France Airbus-343 had entered India above Amritsar, in the north-west of the country, early on Thursday morning.
The Indian air force has stepped up security along the border with Pakistan in the wake of the 2008 Mumbai attacks that killed more than 170 people.
