Testimony from Miami area escort and porn actress Rebecca DeFalco played a key role in the conviction of millionaire British playboy Thanos Papalexis.

A London jury found Thanos Papalexis, 37, guilty of the murder of Charalambos Christodoulides. Christodoulides, 55, was a resident and caretaker in a £2M warehouse owned by Papalexis. According to testimony, Papalexis had found himself in a “perilous financial position” and needed to sell the warehouse, but Christodoulides refused to move out. During an altercation between the men, Papalexis tied Christodoulides to a chair, then beat, tortured, and eventually strangled the restrained victim.
After the murder, Papalexis wrapped Christodoulides’ body in a sheet and disposed of it inside an abandoned factory. The body was discovered approximately two weeks later.
Papalexis then left London and took up residence in Miami Beach, Florida, where he re-invented himself as a hedonistic playboy. He took on a life of decadence and luxury, ostentatiously decorating his office, driving expensive luxury cars, and throwing wild sex parties in which he paid thousands of dollars nightly for the services of high-paid escorts.
Papalexis’ downfall was set in motion when he took up with DeFalco, 41, a Miami area escort and star of several XXX pornographic videos. Their relationship advanced quickly after Papalexis paid DeFalco for a night of passion. The adult video star was impressed by a series of fabrications and exaggerations in which Papalexis claimed to work for both the CIA and the British Intelligence Agency MI6.
DeFalco began to have her suspicions regarding Papalexis after she performed a Google search of his name and found that he had been suspected in the murder of Christodoulides. Eventually DeFalco would confront Papalexis and ask him directly if he had ever killed a man. Surprisingly, Papalexis admitted that he had, adding that the victim had been “a nobody” and that he had “got in the way.”
DeFalco would later recount this encounter in a courtroom and ultimately it was her testimony that allowed the jury to reach their conclusion and convict Papalexis of murder.

I read the news story with interest. Not having read about it earlier elsewhere, I was faced with a few unanswered questions/insights, like what was the relationship between the murderer and the murdered, the reason for refusal to move out by the murdered and how killing profited the killer financially. Anyway the gist is that a third person had the audacity and the courage to testify and expose the murderer.
Paragraph 2 attempts to explain the relationship between Papalexis and Christodoulides. From my research there is no crystal clear answer to your question as to why – that is the nonsensical nature of this type of murder. My feeling is that Papalexis is a sociopath and narcisist who couldn’t stand being obstructed by Christodoulides – so he acted completley irrationally.
Thanks for your comment!
Hmm – Thanos will probably do one of two things: play the same power-games inside as he did on the outside, or, he’ll use his wealth and influence to get the best solicitors and the lightest sentence possible for his crime >:-(
Well he was just convicted this week – I don’t think he’s been sentenced yet. He should go away for a long time though. I guess he could play his power trip games in prison, but at least he’ll be in prison.
That’s tragic news. Let’s hope justice is done.
Fascinating case, hopefully they will put him away for the rest of his life as he sounds like a threat to everyone.
Interesting story. Never heard about this before. All I can say this kind of stories are good to read but certainly very tragic in real life.
First time Ive ever heard of this story and glad he was caught, hopefully spending a lengthy time in jail. They say I think loose lips sink ships,De Falco was his undoing and sunk his ship.
Ho ho Payge – no pun intended I hope! Sorry, I have a dirty mind.
Well reported. TX
I never heard of that before! I may look it up. Good interesting article even though it was a very bad thing to happen, we are always amazed that it goes on, even though hand on heart we know it does.
