A hotel built of twelve tons of garbage collected from European beaches was installed in central Madrid. The building’s purpose tries to draw attention to the contamination of beaches.
The hotel is the creation and work of German artist HA Schult, Save the Beach Hotel Corona, draws attention to the contamination of beaches and the way the beaches looks, after the holiday travel, seas and oceans. The hotel has five rooms with a capacity of ten people per night.
This particular hotel is decorated outside with any dirt, forgotten or thrown object on the beach.

From colored socks, tires, picture frames collected from the sea, lots of plastic debris found in the ocean, or a torn backpack, the hotel was built in Madrid exact on the days when all countries presented their tourism offers.
Fernando Godoy is one of the creators of the project and declared that the hotel bookings have exceeded its capacity. He also mentioned that visitors who stay for one night at this hotel do not have such basic facilities as screen TV and minibar.

The first visitors won their tickets on the internet and were very pleased by their experience. The creation of such a building is a way of drawing attention towards touristic pollution and the way people understand the need of preserving and respecting nature today.
