Six Year-old Boy From Sweden Viciously Attacked!

A 6 year-old boy from Sweden was verbally harassed and even stabbed in the neck with a knife because he preferred to wear pink clothing, nail polish, and ballet outfits.  He had been the unfortunate target of bullies for a long time.

The boy complained to his parents that the boys from the playground had called him a girl and gay and that they excluded him from the group.  He had even been yanked from a climbing frame and dragged along the ground.

The parents saw their son’s neck injury and complained to the school board, but they said that the scuffle between the boys and their son was just a small incident.  The parents had taken their son from the school and placed him in another one.  They were upset because the school did not notify them about the horrible incident.

I was very upset when I heard about this story.  There is a lot of homophobia in this world and the violence against gays or those perceived to be gay is escalating.  People have no respect for others and they think that it is acceptable to treat those who are different in a degrading or inferior manner; well it’s not okay.

The parents should sue the school for not doing enough to protect their son from this terrible incident.  The boys should be severely punished for causing physical and psychological harm to the boy; he did not do anything wrong, if wearing pink is a crime, then that is really sad. (Many men wear pink shirts and nobody bats an eye).

Bullying is not acceptable; people have killed themselves over being teased about their sexuality or their differences.  People have the right to be loved and respected, no matter what their sexual orientation or their differences.  Until people take a stand and put a stop to the bullying and discrimination, more people are going to be hurt or even killed.
