President Osama’s visit to Italy was due to attending G-8 summit but his launching of lavish praise for Silvio Berlusconi was not appreciated by the Italian public because of his private life being polluted with scandal.

President Obama went to Italy for G-8 summit meeting to discuss the world economy as well as the climate change and to find out the ways and means to over come the economic recession particularly in developed countries and also how to protect the globe from the rise of atmospheric temperature. The summit was held in the city of L’Aquila, a place hit by a major earthquake in the month past April. Obama showed his feeling for the Italian people by undertaking a tour program to some of the earthquake damage sites along with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Obama said “Obviously our hearts were broken by the death and destruction that took place after the earthquake. And I’m very pleased that the United States, like many other countries, will be contributing to help the rebuilding process”.

Obama’s lavish praise for scandal-tainted Prime Minister was not liked by Italians.

Obama praised highly, Silvio Berlusconi, the Prime Minister of Italy as the nation’s great leader. Even he lavishly praised his integrity in public. “I just want to confirm that everything I have heard about him is true- he is an extraordinary gentleman and a great leader of this country”.

But the people of Italy know very well that his private life is not clean rather scandalous. He has the ability to be the third richest man of Italy having the personal assets worth $ 9.4 billion (USD) in 2008, but he married twice. At the age of 29 he married Carla Elvira Dall’ Oglio in 1965 but again after 15 years he married actress Veronila Lario in 1980. After a strenuous private life of five years in 1985 he divorced Dall’ Oglio which was not looked by the Italian public gracefully. Nothing money or Power could conceal the truth of the fact, a universal path of the destiny.
