Joran Van der Sloot has confessed to killing Stephany Ramirez-Flores while he was visiting Peru.

Joran Van der Sloot has been extradited from Chile back to Peru, where he was confronted with murder charges. The Dutch native later confessed to killing Stephany Ramirez-Flores.

Flores was found dead last Sunday in a hotel room that was registered to Joran Van der Sloot. The two were spotted later on a security camera recording entering the hotel. Hotel employees initially went to the room, where they could hear the television blaring outside of the room. They were later sent back to the room in attempt to collect payment from Van der Sloot. Upon opening the room, employees discovered Flores deceased, indicating signs of trauma.

The same security footage showed Van der Sloot leaving the hotel room, alone, just a few short hours after going to the room with Ramirez.

Van der Sloot first came into the media a little more than five years ago in Aruba. It is believed that he is connected to the disappearance of Alabama student Natalee Holloway, who was spending her senior trip in the Dutch governed paradise. Van der Sloot along with friends Satish and Deepak Kalpoe were originally arrested in connection with the disappearance. The Kalpoe brothers were released. Van der Sloot remained a person of interest in the case and was arrested a second time.

Several years later, Van der Sloot was captured on a hidden film recording, giving alleged details and a confession as to what happened to Holloway. The confession was not admissible in court.
