Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Rain, rain go away!

Hershey, Pennsylvania was hit hard in September 2011 with flood waters.  A lot of damage was done.  Homes, vehicles, business, etc. all under water.

Below are some pictures shared of some of the damage that occurred because of the flood waters.

This picture was captured by Chris Davidson.  This picture is of Route 322.  This is the road in front of Hershey Medical Center.  As you can clearly see, the road collapsed.

The above three pictures are of Hershey Park.  It’s hard to imagine a park that I have been to was recently under water.  I hope that the park is able to recover from this.

I think the most upsetting pictures of all are the ones of Zoo America.  Where animals were lost.  Should the park been able to do more to save these creatures?  Some believe yes, but the park swears they did all they could to save all the animals.

Apparently after hours of struggling and trying to save the Bison, one did drown and the other one was euthanized by the Zoo staff.  Per a news story, some wolves were lost as well.  You can view the news story at:  http://www.abc27.com/story/15415545/at-least-2-zooamerica-animals-die-in-hershey-flooding
