39 killed in an attack on a mosque during the commemoration of Ashura in Iran

According to local media that the two suicide bombings outside a mosque in Iran that killed at least 39, and wounding more than a hundred on Wednesday during the commemoration of Ashura.

Arabiya said the group Soldiers of God which is Sunni Muslim rebel group claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred outside the Imam Hussein mosque in the city of Chabahar in the southeast near the border with Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The report from independent sources could not confirm, but the Sistan-Baluchestan poor  province was the scene of unrest and mos of its t population were Sunni claims  they are subjected to discrimination against the Shiite authorities.

Velayati  Fairouz Fayrouz Abadi President of the Bureau of Forensic Medicine in the province, said  ” at least 39 people killed  after two suicide bombings targeting Shiites, who were participating in the commemoration of Ashura in front of a mosque in the town of Chabahar.”

Iranian television said the blasts that killed many children and women who were participating in the commemoration of Ashura, adding that he expected the death toll.

Iran has seen a series of bombings in the past few months, including two in June that killed 27 people in the same region. And Jundallah also claimed responsibility for that attack.

The province of Sistan-Baluchistan, an impoverished region near the border with Pakistan and Afghanistan. Increased bombings and clashes between security forces and Sunni insurgents of the Baluch and drug traffickers in recent years in the region.

Iran says the Jund Allah has links to al-Qaeda and accuses Pakistan, Britain and the United States of supporting the group to cause unrest in the south-east of Iran, which includes the Sunni minority in Iran. Denies the three countries support the Community.

According to the semi-official Mehr news agency reported that Ali Larijani, Iran’s parliament speaker said: “The Americans and the Zionist regime (Israel) are trying to make a schism between Shiites and Sunnis planning for such bombings.” He continued saying, “They should understand that these measures will not pass without a response.”
