Double Standard on Israel Time: AVA Makes a Big Fuss Over Map in Israel Poster

The AVA [Advertising Standards Authority] made a big fuss when the Israeli tourism advertisement showed a map of Israel where the borders of the “occupied” territories were not shown. It got a big fuss by many anti-Israel groups. The Israeli Tourism Ministry made it clear that the map was a mistake and that no political message was meant to be involved. The posters appeared in the London Underground. It was in Britain, one of the European countries where the liberal mainstream media is worse in its anti-Israel fairy tales about Israeli “aggression” and Israeli “massacres”.

Hmm, a map that shows a country [Palestine never was a country] as not existing. Where did I hear that before? Could it be from a source with two words: Palestinian Authority [PA]?

For all you anti-Israel militants out there, the PA has repeatedly had maps that show Israel as part of “Palestine”. Unlike this advertisement, those maps are meant to be a political message. It isn’t one about peace. It’s message is that Israel has no right to exist. In Palestinian textbooks, maps repeatedly appeared that showed Israel to be part of “Palestine”. In political offices of PA leaders, there were maps of “Palestine” where Israel does not exist. Yes, even in the offices of the “moderate” PA leaders. There are pictures of Arafat in his political office with a map of “Palestine” where Israel doesn’t exist. Those maps symbolize the PA’s message that Israel must be eliminated. It’s the message of the PA, whether it’s under Fatah or Hamas. The PA, whether under Fatah or Hamas, has training camps that train Palestinian kids to kill Jews and that indoctrinate them that “Palestine” must be “liberated” from the Zionist “occupiers”. Those camps “teach” Palestinian kids that Israel proper is part of “occupied Palestine”. Those camps take for form as summer camps. The PA’s indoctrination makes suicide bombers seem heroic and as holy Islamic warriors who fight to “liberate” Palestine from the Jewish “infidels”. The indoctrination praises terrorism on innocent Israeli civilians.

Look at the symbol of the “moderate” Fatah. It’s a map of “Palestine” that includes Israel proper with two rifles and a hand grenade. Yet we are told by the liberal mainstream media that Fatah is “moderate”. It gets worse. Some of the militant leftists even see Fatah as a puppet of the US and Israel for pretending to have “peace” with Israel. Many Palestinian groups have a map of “Palestine” where Israel doesn’t exist as the symbol of their group. That was going on for decades [Fatah was founded in 1958 with the same symbol that it has now]. Yet there is no fuss about that. Yet when the Israeli Tourism Ministry puts up an ad and unintentionally makes a map of Israel that doesn’t have the borders of the “occupied” territories, there is then a big fuss. The liberal mainstream media has it backwards on who is “moderate” and who is a “hardliner”. The media calls Mahmoud Abbas, the PA president and head of Fatah, a “moderate” and calls Netanyahu a “hardliner”. Yet, Netanyahu made it clear that he doesn’t want to “govern” the Palestinians and spoke in favor of land for peace. And Mahmoud Abbas stated that he doesn’t recognize Israel as a Jewish state. As head of Fatah, he leads the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, which commits terrorist attacks by Fatah. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades is controlled by and is part of Fatah. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades just has a different name in order for Fatah to continue to play the “moderate” game. Even after Abbas took over Fatah, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades continued with their terrorist attacks, even using Google Earth in order to help plan their attacks.  

Abbas continues to call for the right of return in order to destroy Israel. The PA seeks to rid Israel of its Jewish identity. Yes, the PA has plenty of maps of “Palestine” that includes present day Israel. Those maps have the message that Israel doesn’t exist. Apparently, to the mainstream media [especially the one in Europe and to a lesser extent the one in the USA], that doesn’t matter. But having a map of Israel where there isn’t a border line of the “occupied” territories from the Israeli Tourism Ministry is apparently the worst crime imaginable. By the way, plenty of maps don’t draw the border lines of the West Bank or Gaza. Those maps have no political message, not even one about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The world makes no big deal about that.

The western world is truly losing it, when an ad with a map of Israel that doesn’t include the lines of where the “occupied” territories is worse than the indoctrination promoted by the “moderate” Palestinian leaders that includes the illustration of countless maps of “Palestine”, where Israel doesn’t exist. This is an illustration of the double standards against Israel. We heard all these false and libelous accusations against the Jews. In the middle ages, the libelous accusation against Jews was that they kill Christians to use their blood for matzo. Now, the current blood libels is that the Jews massacre Palestinian women and children. The media is fed with and comes out with all these fairy tales of Israeli “massacres” toward Palestinian civilians, despite the fact that the IDF trains their soldiers to not kill Palestinian civilians. This is the current blood libel. The accusation spreads to the same places. Isn’t it interesting that the blood libel originated in Europe [and spread to the Arab and Muslim world where it is more prevalent] and that the second blood libel now flourishes in Europe? The liberal mainstream media in Europe is even worse than the one in the US in repeating these fairy tales about Israeli “aggression” and “massacres”. This double stand against Israel insanity came to making a bigger fuss about an ad than about decades old incitement from the Palestinian Authority [PA].
