Accused Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan France of violating religious freedom after it began application of the law banning the wearing of the veil in public places on Muslim women.
Erdogan said that Turkey is the only Muslim country which has been reproduced on the secular French law, but he added that it “is ridiculous really to see that secularism today the subject of controversy in Europe and undermine certain freedoms. “
He told the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg “Today in France there is no respect for religious freedom for the individual. “
The French government banned the wearing of the veil in public places, and held discussions on secularism and described as divisive, and said it will look like the Muslims they are a minority interesting problems, not a group of French citizens, law-abiding.
