In a speech in front of students, the head of the Iranian nuclear program stated that after Iran will join the Nuclear Club of the world, "No country will even consider attacking us."

Is Iran on the way to joining the nuclear club of the world?

The head of the Iranian program for nuclear energy, Bazhat Sultani, Accounted this Tuesday (4/13/10) that his country will enter the world’s nuclear club and then “no country will consider attacking Iran.” He did not describe in detail any further. Sultani added that Iran’s nuclear power plants are nearing 70% completion, and reactors that produce heavy water, necessary for the production of plutonium, have already been completed.

The term “Nuclear Club” refers to countries that are actively stockpiling nuclear weapons- USA, Russia, Frace,China,India, Great Britian, Pakistan, and North Korea. Israel, Iran’s most likely target for its developing nuclear weapons, currently is claiming to hold 100-300 nuclear bombs and is considered the 6th largest nuclear power.

Sultani repeatedly declared that his country will only use the technology to only provide power for its people. “Our next step is to expand the use of nuclear energy to other goals beside energy and fuel, so that by using radiation, food items, proteins, and vegetables will remain fresh and of higher quality for longer.”

In another occasion, Sultani said in front of the nuclear division scientists in the city of Kashan in the middle of Iran. He was proud to say that “although our enemies can’t think that we can enrich uranium to a level of 20%(the minimum enrichment required for the production of nuclear weapons), we have had no technical difficulties and this process is already under way and supervised by Iran’s government.”

This almost clearly proves Iran’s interest in stockpiling nuclear weapons of its own, and Many countries have feared the fact that once they are available, they will be used, primarily against Israel. When the Iranian government sent out orders to build a nuclear reactor in the 1980’s, the Israeli government immediately ordered its air force to attack and destroy any remnants of the power plant. Now, all that there is left to do is for the U.N. organization to clear a country to do the same, before the unthinkable may happen.
