With the myriad of hostile youths wanting regime change in the Middle East the USA now finds itself in a precarious situation. How President Obama handles the current regimes being overtaken by the protesters will certainly involve a lot of dancing on his part, maybe even some new steps at home.
We have seen the revolution in Egypt unfold live on Aljazeera and the downfall of President Hosni Mubarak after 18 days of protesters filling the streets in Tahrir Square demanding their freedom.
In one of the richest oil reserves we are witnessing the downfall of another corrupt regime, that of Libya’s President Muammar el-Qaddaffi, who has been in office 41 years, and who is swearing to stay another 41 years.
President Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen is trying to hold onto his presidency while protesters are demanding free elections and democracy for their country.
POTUS dance lesson
When these despotic sycophants are finally removed from office, what will be the outcome of it all? First of all a new regime will have to be put into place, not an easy task. Secondly, democracy enforced and this is not an easy task either. What most people fail to realize is that these despots have been in office for many years. The protesters in the streets are protesting for the right to free elections, the right to live in a democracy and some of these protesters have come out of Al Qaeda and the Jihadist movements associated with terrorism.
Al Quaeda and Osama Ben Ladin certainly do not want democracy or free elections and these factions are just waiting for the right moment to step up to the plate and make their intentions known.
When these despots have finally been removed and the process for a free society and for democracy in their lands, what price will they have to pay in the long run? I believe that the bloodshed as only just begun. The Jihadist are waiting for the right moment and the right momentum for them to supply a relevant cure-all in aiding these countries to become stable and therein lies the problem for POTUS himself.
When the dirty little deals that have been going on between the USA, Britain, Italy, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Oman, Iran, Tunisia and Iraq are made known, what dance will POTUS be doing…me thinks the two-step. Al Qaeda is not going to let this opportunity pass by without a fight and it will be a bloody mess before it is over. The season is ripe for a complete take-over by the Islamic Jihadist in the Middle East, they are being quiet for a reason. Osama Ben Ladin is not going to let this rest, this is not his style. When the moment is right Al Qaeda will appear with the answers and those that disagree will pay for it with their lives.
Summary
The bottom line is we have been in bed with some of the most despotic regimes on the face of the earth and we cannot expect to come out of this clean. The death toll will rise in these countries, but there will be no peace until all is said and done. There will be some house cleaning that has to be done as these countries try to establish democracy in their own lands. Either President Obama must do some fancy footwork, or look for a new dance teacher, wonder which it will be? So far we have only witnessed his silence, he is not prepared to lead the greatest nation on earth, he is busy with his own “agenda” which is “he is a politician”, when the going gets rough, they usually find a way to skirt around the issue at hand. POTUS has not condemned the regimes in these Middle Eastern regions because to do so would mean he would have to take a stand, the politician in him will not allow him to do this. His dance card is being changed as we speak and he better be ready to dance!

Have been hearing about this story for quiet some time. Anxiously, looking forward to know whats next…
I fully agree with you. Desspotic and autocratic regimes have no place in our civilized society. Thanks for sharing.
