Hope for its people.
The Israeli people are amazed at how the present government is dealing with the situation in Israel. We finally feel a sense of hope that things are about to change.
For the past couple of years the nation has been living in fear of losing our grip on our very existence in the area, fear of losing what we have built and have been fighting to keep since Israel’s foundation in 1948. We have been much too lenient with the Islamic Fundamentalist Terrorists that have been threatening our civilians since the first intifada. Lately our people have been struggling with the thoughts of uncertainty concerning our future.
But to our utmost astonishment we are delighted to see that our leaders are taking a stand against these monsters and against the world that have almost always blamed us for the conflict.
Although rockets continue to rain on Israel’s southern cities, our defense forces are working very hard to annihilate the enemy’s capacity to continue. Our belief (the people) is that if our leaders do not fold under international pressure to halt it’s retaliation, and hence go all the way, we will succeed in sending a message to all enemies of Zion that we are here to stay and will not tolerate their hatred any longer.
We are a peaceful people looking to raise our families in peace and excel in all areas of life without living in constant fear of whether we will be attacked on our way home every evening or while gathered at our diner table.
We wish no harm on the Palestinians nor do we want to engage in war, honestly we have much better things to do.
Nevertheless, we must defend ourselves and the honor of our fallen soldiers. We cannot allow these terrorists to control us or decide our fate. We stand united while close to 1 million of our brothers and sisters are under hostile attack every minute of every day. We are all glued to our TV sets, radios and computers praying that no one will get hurt or killed in these gross and cowardly attacks.
We ask the nations of the world to join us in our prayers and G-D willing put an end to this crazy and dangerous ideology that Israel should be wiped off the map and it’s citizens drowned at sea.

For the time being Israel has not been duped/pressured into another cease fire while Hamas regroups and regains control. However, I believe that it is inevitable that another temporary halt will occur and nothing will have changed. I also believe, regretfully, that it will remain so until the final conflict.

I believe that Isreal in the near future will get the peace it’s looking for and deserves. It’s slow in coming but there are barriers being broken and nations are starting to come together in the war against all terrorism. You have to believe this because to believe in no change at all is to condemn yourself without even ascertaining the possibility of change.
Very important post, estie.
I have a lot of answers to a lot of things but don’t get the senseless of this.
Thank you for your comment Debbi.

Hello estie, I just wanted to point out that I misspelled, “Israel” in my comment above. My mistake.
Also, I find your writing very interesting so you might catch me reading some of your other work.
