Middle East:the Modern Sodom City

Do you remember the Biblical story of Sodom? Well maybe yes or maybe not, since it’s not one of the highlighted stories in the Bible. Unlike David and Goliath, Moses in the basket, Solomon the wisest king, Samson and Delilah, the Prodigal Son, and the list goes on and on. But what interest me in this story, is that it reminds me of the Middle East. Not from what I have seen, but from what I have heard.

To refresh your memory, Sodom, is a city which popularized incest and homosexuality. In short, the people their are very horny. Because of this sinful acts. God showed his wrath by burning this city down to the ground.

Now moving on, why did I compare Sodom with the Middle East, well base on the stories shared to me, the people in the middle east, well not all but some, also do it with same sex, and some are not even homosexual. And that’s where human trafficking comes into the picture. We heard stories from the news where guys are confessing that they have been raped and abused sexually. But still, this did not stop the Filipino’s to work there. In fact, almost two million Filipino’s are working there. They have no choice since it is the easiest access to the greener pasture they wanted. Sad yet true…

Will Middle East be as worse as Sodom? Will it be burned down like what happened to the City of Sodom? Will the OFW’s look back and turn to pillar of salt? We just don’t know…
