In the last days the holders of newspapers and the reporters have had a name: Pandemic.

Confirming at least 40 cases of swine flu in the US.
Officials urged Americans against most travel to Mexico as the virus that began there spread to the Unites States and beyond.
Death toll rises to 149 as who issues new warnings about virus.
A jump to 149 deaths and more signs that the virus can jump repeatedly from human to human –prompted the world health organization to raise its pandemic alert level, and governments around the world were taking tough measures. The virus already spread to up to roughly a half-dozen countries and half of Mexico.
The news phase 4 alert means sustained human – to human transmissions is causing outbreaks in at least one country, signaling a significant increase in the risk of a global epidemic.
Phase 4 doesn’t mean a pandemic is inevitable but many experts think it may be impossible to contain a flu virus already spreading in several countries.
To prevent the flu from spreading, airports are screening travelers from Mexico and U.S., China, Russia, Taiwan and Bolivia.
Say they’ll quarantine anyone with symptoms.
South Korea are warning citizens against travel to parts of Mexico.
The EU health commissioner has urged Europeans to postpone nonessential travel to the US and Mexico.

Interesting article.
I can’t understand why we are being led into fear by this swine flu. It reminds me of how we were told the same thing about mad cow, and bird flu. It is a fact that hundreds if not thousands of people die from all kinds of flu each year. What about malaria, , where a million people die every year. And a child dies of starvation every couple minutes. Why are these things not reported as epidemics?
You are right, exist many diseases and many situations that estan ending the humanity to which importance is reduced to them. You know, you finish thanking to me to an idea… to write.
