For the fans of vet63, read the following.

Vet63 hasn’t dropped of the face of the earth, just changed my user name for several reasons. Number One, Yahoo! let a hacker into its data base and my account was one of 450,000 hacked. Whoever it was changed my security questions, thus locking me out. I have cancelled my account with Yahoo! and switched to gmail.

My new user name is vet68 (it better reflects my age) but rest assured that I am still the same opinionated, crusty old fart as before. Politicians will still shudder when I post something because they certainly won’t like it.

As Will Rogers once said, “All I know is what I read in the newspaper.” In keeping up with progress, we now have to include online content and news talk shows on TV. Newspapers have changed from reporting the news, to creating the news and slanting it any way they want, take it out of context, twisting the words and meaning and generally make a fool out of themselves on a daily basis. My own Rocky Mountain News closed their doors and stopped the presses many years ago, leaving the Denver Post as the states largest newspaper. I liked the Rocky Mountain News simply because they reported the news, didn’t help make it and they were folded tabloid style.

I even used to subscribe to the NY Times, online, The Plains Dealer and several others before they became either right wing or left wing in thei reporting and editorials. Now I skip over them, if I even click on their web site. Now I subscribe to several online news reporting  blog sites, getting the raw news so I can make up my own mind and form my own opinion. I don’t know how they do it, maybe I don’t want to know, but sometimes they come out with news items before the big papers and news talk shows do. Its refreshing to read something that hasn’t been hashed over by a hundred other reporters.

Don’t forget, vet63 is now vet68.
