People often believe that fast food companies should be abolished because they ruin the health of millions of people worldwide, but these companies often tend to escape. What is the cure to this problem?

Through the past several years, the problem of obesity has caused severe tensions in U.S. Every year Americans are getting fatter and fatter. It is estimated that one in five Americans is obese, a condition defined as being more than 30 percent above the ideal weight based on height. In addition, the problem of obesity has lately also rose amongst the children, leading to the problem of diabetes and liver failure amongst these children.

There are several causes of this growing obesity, however, since the past several years fingers have constantly been rose on “fast-food companies” in particular. Many people believe that fast-food companies are the main cause of the “obesity” problem, and thus should be abolished.

However, I think that blaming and abolishing fast-food companies is not the cure to this problem. These companies are not only feeding people but running a business. They are more concerned about their stockholders and profit over the health of their customers. They care for money, not health. It is true that these companies should not only be focusing on their profit, but should also consider people’s welfare.

But, if they don’t care about people’s health does that mean that we shouldn’t care about our well-being as well? I think that people should be more responsible and understanding on this matter. Instead of blaming the companies and trying to abolish them by court cases, people should rather avoid this “junk” food and eat healthy and nutritious food. This will not only solve the obesity problem but will also eventually close these greedy and selfish companies. This is the only cure to this problem.
